Hey guys
Well, I decided to come back to my favourite old haunt and see how things are going. A few people will remember me, but to those who don't, I used to post (very, very infrequently!) under the name of Slinky.
I found this site waaaaaay back in 2003 I think, and it quickly became a big part of my internet life. I considered it a home of sorts, to write and talk about things on my mind. About my own life, my weird brain, and how the world around me often baffled me to the point of worshipping the Holy Phil Collins.....how I loved that thread
Ahem, but anyway, I met some truly amazing people on this forum, and consequently through the various chat platforms that sprouted from SU. Some of the best people I have, and am ever likely, to know. It truly was (and I'm sure still is) a friendly, non-confrontational space to be with like-minded and like-spirited folk. Sure it suffered from a chronic lack of posting in later times, but that never detracted from the core value of what made SU such a special place for me and others. Of that I'm certain.
Waffle, waffle, waffle. I only meant for a quick intro. Or re-intro. But I just had to give a small nugget of truth as to why SU has a special place in my heart, and why I wanted to come back and hopefully post a little bit. I hold no gigantic hopes that former glories will be rekindled in terms of the sheer number of folk who used to actively take part in posting and chats. That would be brill if it ever happened....but I love this place regardless.
What a nostalgic old sod I am.
Anywho, Hello again!
