Facebook though I don't use it much. Also Last.fm (limited occasional use), abandoned Myspace (what use nowadays?), rarely used Friends Reunited, Bebo (probably useless, site is currently closed for maintenance). No Twitter, Tumblr etc. Suppose if I create a Google account (hate how they now demand your phone number!) Google+ is required. Facebook is especially annoying because it's comment/login with system is spreading across the internet. It presumably tracks you with stupid ads too like others, obnoxiously wants to make people use their real names everywhere. Fortunately a do not track browser plugin will stop this though.

Facebook is the only one of those that I actually use, though I have signed up on a few of those others just to try it out. I check my facebook everyday, but I'm not crazy addicted to it.

I'm relatively new to the internet, so I'm clueless about most of it. I know of those sites. I have next to no use for them. Some of them I haven't even heard of. I've only had regular internet access for three or so years. I remember life before it and I don't see those sites as improving my life. Meeting face-to-face will always trump friending, beboing, tweetering, and so forth. I had no idea Myface was still going, but I know the YouTube goes from strength to strength. Although I don't care for it, personally.
I am on Facebook under an alias, but that's only so I can look at a local history site, group, page, whatever it's called. You need an account to view it, for some reason. Most of it is disabled, so they can track me all they want, they'll get nothing from me.
I have a Gmail account but just the email. None of that plus stuff, whatever that is. I know it's a plus. Plus what, God only knows.
I don't really 'get' the internet. I know it's a series of tubes, that's about it.

I have a Facebook account with my real name that I don't use. I heard somewhere that you should you have one to prevent people from 'spoofing' you on there. Of course no one is going to do that to me, but I think it's good to have a Facebook account in case someone from my past really wants to get in touch, they can find me through there.
I have a fake name on there too, but like Spork I just use it to look at a few pages, and I've posted occasional comments with it. I still rarely use it. I don't have any friends now with either accounts.

I'm not new to the internet or social networks, but only got broadband at the end of last year as opposed to the tiresome dial-up. Is youtube a social network as such? I like some stuff there. Do use my real name on facebook, my friends list is pretty small. I originally resisted it, but joined because of someone on the SAUK forum. My list is a mix of people from there, school, university, perhaps a few complete strangers too. I've had one or two vague offers to meet up with people from the past, but never yet had the courage to do that, unfortunately.

I know the thread is old, but anyway - sites I use: Facebook - both my real name and a fake name<I just did that to test some things that I didn't understand lol. I'm continually or automatically logged into Facebook with my real name. I'm on Twitter, but I don't go on much - sometimes I send a "tweet" to the Dr. Phil show (just occasionally). I have a Gmail account, but that's just because of you tube. I know about Google Plus, but I don't use it.
Other sites I use are paypal for online shopping and other things I pay out, although I don't use it to pay my phone/cable/internet "bundle": I do that via online banking.
I have three email addresses which I use from time to time. Have older ones that I cannot get into anymore since I've not logged into them for several years lol.
I think that's it. If not, I might have to edit or something lol.

I hate the phone number requirement also for the reason that I don't have a cell phone number but just a home phone (I do have a cellphone but I don't have it hooked up as a telephone as I just use it to take pictures).

Google+ is going to be shut down soon due to a security breach. linkFacebook though I don't use it much. Also, Facebook’s tracking is actually way worse than that. Even if you don’t care about them tracking everything you do, it turns out that Facebook has been caught doing unethical sociological experiments on its users. No joke, you can learn more by watching these videos by Youtuber ‘The Hated One’. (Google is just as bad as Facebook is too.) If you want to learn more about protecting your data, you can watch his privacy tutorial or visit privacytools.io.
