Epic Times: MDMA, the Active Ingredient in Ecstasy, may Treat Social Anxiety in Adults with AutismI don't know if it was this board or another one where I remember this being discussed. From what I hear, MDMA, a.k.a. Ecstasy makes people more social. What will be interesting is if this could be administered in a controlled, legal way like other medications. Personally, I have great reservations about drugs, legal or otherwise, but nevertheless I'm interested in the biological mechanisms behind what makes people social. I bet that I'm missing the feeling of social bonding that other people have. Maybe that's part of the 'disconnect' I have in social situations.

So it sounds like to be less shy I should drink Roundup and take Ecstasy. Got it. I agree it's interesting, though. Wonder if it's possible make something like that that wasn't addictive. I tend to avoid drugs where I can too, but I also think most things are fine in moderation. If one could take something before heading into to something where it really mattered, it'd be tempting. Getting addicted or dependent on it would be my bigger concern.

"MDMA got you feeling like a champion"
I think of that every time I see the title of this thread.
That's all that I have to contribute. :/ I definitely wouldn't recommend drugs to try and overcome issues. There's too much potential to mess a person up or land them in jail...or a state (mental) hospital, which is where I saw a lot of people with problems with it. It's a shame that people with any sort of mental issue often falls prone to addictions, most likely as a way to escape/shut out thoughts. I'm ranting now, so I'll stop.
