Will Your Job Be Done By A Machine? Results for the two that best describe my job: Computer Programmers have a 48.1% chance of being automated. Software Developers Applications have a 4.2% chance of being automated. I honestly don't know what difference there is between the two jobs and why the figures are so far apart. I'm also curious how computer programming will be done by a machine. I think aspects of programming can be made more efficient (like re-using code), but I really doubt computers will start writing software. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I think the job market is more affected by outsourcing than technology. There will always be jobs, but the nature of those jobs will change.

Fashion Models have a 97.6% chance of being automated.
Wait, what ? How would you automate a fashion model ? I'm not sure I understand this ?_?

We're half way there. Will Your Job Be Done By A Machine?I'm also curious how computer programming will be done by a machine. When computers start writing code, that is when Skynet will be born. For me - Retail Salespersons 92.3 percent. Since a lot of stores already have self checkouts these days, it's already started. And in my case of working in a bookstore, if everything gets converted to E-books then the store themselves will be completely online anyway.

For my two degrees:
Anthropologists/Archaeologists: 0.8%
Accountants/Auditors: 93.5%
Well, when the machines take over accounting I guess I can switch!

Well, I don't have a job, but I did an art diploma, mainly centred on photography.
Apparently, photographers have a 2.1% chance of becoming automated.
I'm insulted, quite frankly.
If I understand it correctly, and I pretty sure I don't, that means 2.1% of me could be replaced by a machine.
Dread to think what part...

If I understand it correctly, and I pretty sure I don't, that means 2.1% of me could be replaced by a machine. Dread to think what part... I'm not supposed to say it ( in fact I could very well be arrested just for mentioning it ) but I know for a fact that they intend to replace your eyes ( and those of all other photographers ) with digital cameras. The pictures you take will be directly recorded on your brain and, at a time of your convenience, you may plug your cerebrum to your computer ( there's indeed going to be a usb socket implanted on your head, forgot to mention that part ). The good news is all the other parts that constitute your body wil definitely, well, probably, still be 100% human. The bad news is that your eyes will every once in a while emit a bright flash, that could get annoying after a while but I'm sure that with time they'll fix that problem...

Job I did: Chemists have a 10.3% chance of being automated. Jobs I could get with my degrees: Medical Scientists have a 0.5% chance of being automated. Microbiologists have a 1.2% chance of being automated. I'm safe.
