I'm new here, so I don't know if anyone cares...but just to put a face to a name, here goes...(hopefully it works)... OK, it's official, every shy girl ever is gorgeous. I agree. Not only are they pretty, but they speak less. And to me, i'm attracted to women, and people in general, who speak less. Better to talk too less rather than too much.

OK, it's official, every shy girl ever is gorgeous. Not every shy girl. Nor every guy either. That's why God gave us alcohol ;D

Better to talk too less rather than too much. I'm definitely attracted to men that don't speak every little thought that comes to mind too....sometimes, it's just mindless chatter for the sake of making noise. Silence can be beautiful....and more mysterious. It's more meaningful that way. Also, everyone here seems very kind! It's very welcoming to know that I don't need to feel like an outsider just because I happen to be really shy.

It's very welcoming to know that I don't need to feel like an outsider just because I happen to be really shy. I have always found it puzzling how very attractive women say or end up being shy. I figured as much attention as they get good or bad they would be more social. But everyone is different I guess. Kimberly would you mind sharing with us kind shy people how you are shy? and with whom you are shy?

I've been shy for as long as I can remember. I figure it was due to the way I was brought up, and the community I was brought up in. My dad was quite a bit older when I was born, and my mother who was quite a bit older as well, was also Vietnamese. So I think I got a very old-fashioned, culturally 'different' kind of upbringing. My dad was quite harsh, almost as if he never wanted children, or never understood how to deal with them, so I was constantly criticized, put-down, yelled at, called stupid, etc.. My mom on the other hand, tried to be motherly, but didn't really know how to be. She had very high expectations, and when I didn't live up to them, she made it very clear that she was disappointed, and always tried to get me to do things her way, never letting me figure things out for myself. When I first started school, I remember always being asked why I didn't look anything like my mom, because I just don't look very Vietnamese. So the kids would make comments about how I was adopted, etc...making me feel like I was different, an outcast. Long story short, I developed very low self-esteem earlier on in my life that hasn't dissipated now that I am older, despite the fact that sometimes I do get compliments from other people. I just have it internally ingrained in my head that I'm worthless, nobody likes me, I'm ugly, yadda, yadda, yadda... Anyways, hope that answers your question! I also wanna thank everyone for their compliments and kind words!

I'm new here, so I don't know if anyone cares...but just to put a face to a name, here goes...(hopefully it works)... Wow, you're cute.... Better watch out cuz you're gonna get pm's from every single guy on these boards. Hello, Kimberly. Welcome to... *swoon* ...Welcome to SU... I'm definitely attracted to men that don't speak every little thought that comes to mind too. *catatonic rapture* I hate to burst any bubbles, but Kimby here has a boyfriend (read her post in the “Introductions are in order” thread). She’s more proof to support the theory that attractive girls have no problem with getting into intimate relationships - shy or otherwise. Since I'm feeling a little brave today, reasons unknown, here are some of me (in one picture I'm accompanied by my border collie "Lady"): DAMMIT! You just blew my theory. I can’t believe that you don’t have guy-customers hitting on you constantly. What part of Texas did you say you lived in? I’m thinking it’s probably out in the desolate stretches of far west Texas - where the human population is out-numbered by the coyotes.
