There was an excellent guest on last night's Talksport Radio Station. He was talking about how to use meditation. He also mentioned that sitting in a room with a green light has a calming, relaxing effect. Has anybody tried it? Or light therapy in general?

Don't know whether you were asking about meditation or just light therapy. I know nothing about light therapy, but I meditate somewhat regularly. I think it helps.

The Radio show was discussing meditation but like therapy came up.They mentioned using a green light has a relaxing effect. Good job the didn't recommend using reg lights. You might get a few dodgy knocks at your door.

I remember seeing something about light therapy on TV ages ago now. I may be wrong but I think it was in relation to autistic children. These kids were taken into a room full of bean-bags, bubble machines, and different coloured lights. Just the visual effect of the whole thing, especially the lights, seemed to have positive effects on these children. It seemed very soothing and relaxing for some, stimulating and fascinating for others. I think there was some relationship between the colours of the lights and the effect they had on the kids, but I can't remember exactly what.

I think there has been pretty strong evidence that it works. I remember reading about people suffering from SAD used light boxes to increase their moods. I always seem to be in better form when the weather is good, which is not that often in lovely warm Belfast.
