Does anyone have a special few songs that make them feel like they're the most confident person on the Earth? I feel like nobody can touch me, it's amazing.

I've had that feeling when listening to some songs. Its great but doesn't last much past when the song ends for me, so its not much helpful to my confidence overall unless I could listen to the song while I was doing things like talking to people or going on a date, which you can't.

Yes, but music also has the ability to put my mood on a downer too.

I don't know about it making me feel confident, but listening to music I like always makes me extremely happy. When I run or ride my bike while listening to punk rock it makes me go really fast and often continue for hours more then I originally intended to.
Sometimes I seclude myself in complete darkness, so that my hearing is enhanced (nothing to distract me visually) and I can enjoy the music even more.

Actually, I think music is what keeps me alive. I'd be lost without it.

Music can definitely enhance my moods too - both up and down - too. I don't think I could use it to actually go from happy to sad or vice versa though. Listening to too many jumpy songs when I'm feeling down would just irritate me and make me feel more down. And similar going the other way. Some songs that pump me up: A Perfect Circle - Judith At the Drive-In - One-Armed Scissor Blindside - Time Will Change Your Heart Grinspoon - Champion Incubus - A Certain Shade of Green Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows Rage Against the Machine - No Shelter Soundgarden - Jesus Christ Pose System of a Down - Suggestions The Living End - Save the Day Some songs for when I just want to drown: At the Drive-In - Napoleon Solo Cold - Rain Song Nine Inch Nails - The Day the World Went Away Powderfinger - These Days Pearl Jam - Black Radiohead - Creep Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge Soundgarden - Blow Up the Outside World Soundgarden - Fell On Black Days Stabbing Westward - Why

Hi! Interesting topic! I can't live without music. The music that makes me feel good about myself and confident is from Christina Aguilera. The songs "I will be", "Hello", "Soar", Beautiful", "Keep on singing my song", and many more, do have very strong and powerful lyrics. Not to mention her voice! Many people don't like the way she sings, but her powerful voice works like an energy booster for me all the time. Whenever I hear "I will be" I feel like I could conquer the world, and everytime I hear "Hello" I feel like everyone else could kiss my a... and I can't wait to start doing what I want to do, working on my goals and dreams. I also like the black album from Metallica! I like to listen to it while driving. It makes me feel great and energetic. Lilly

As much as I love music it has never made me feel confident.
Tho it can make me happy depending upon what the music is.

I find most music I enjoy makes me feel happier and can brush away any depressive mood. Quite often Metal helps give me confidence...especially songs which are 'rebellious' or telling the rest of the world to 'f*** off'. Then again, just the sheer brilliance of some of the music can make me feel good about myself - that I took the time and effort to find it. Not bashing other people's music, but I don't think I'd feel nearly as happy with myself if I just listened to the generic genres/bands the vast majority of people do. I guess there's a sense of pride in oneself for being different (and of course this needn't be in musical tastes). It may seem arrogant, but it works

Yet, if someone ever tries to ask me about music I like, I have a very hard time explaining it to them. I always try to avoid that conversation topic. Most people I know think I don't even listen to music at all.

Before I got into Metal, I didn't really listen to much music so couldn't talk about it and when I did start listening, it's all stuff few others have heard of. No situation's perfect though. lol
