One for the Brits of this forum... Meant to post about this for a while but kept forgetting What does everyone think of northern comic Peter Kay? (if anyone's actually heard of him here) For me he's one of the funniest guys I've ever heard. His comedy's kind of observational, picking up on aspects of life (especially things that happen when you're young) that everyone recognises. Like your mum refusing to buy brand-name soft-drink like Coca-cola or Pepsi, and bringing several gallons of supermarket's own-brand 'crap' pop home. Great comedic character actor as well: Phoenix Nights, the John Smith's adverts. His brand of humour does seem to be very 'north of England', but he's just finishing a massive tour of the whole of England, getting rave reviews. Anyway, enough of my innane ranting. Over to the rest of you guys... 'Man goes into doctors with a steering wheel down the front of his pants. The doctor asks 'What the hell's wrong with you?' The man replies 'I don't know but it's drivin' me nuts'....

I love Peter Kay as a stand up. I've never seen a full episode of Phoenix Nights. Paramount showed him live at the end of the pier last weekend. I'd seen that show before but it was still very funny. The bit about booking the holiday on teletext had me in fits.
