I just watched "A History of Violence" for my Literature on Film class (yes sometimes I have to watch a movie for homework ;D ) and I enjoyed most of it. We read the graphic novel first then we had to watch the movie. I dont think it was "Oscar worthy" or anything, but it was good. It was rather short as well. If anyone is going to see this, make sure your parents are no where to be seen *cough* ~ia

I didnt enjoy it very much but thought it was ok, although it didnt deserve the excellent reviews it got IMHO.

I didnt have much expectation on this movie because of the awful poster...but it was a charming and sweet film. It was really difficult to understand some of the things they were saying because of the Australian accent was much. Highly reccomended! *** 1/2 stars ~ia

I remember I watched it during my first night away from home at university, and I enjoyed it, even though it is an incredibly girly film.

Last week I watch The Departed. I went into the cinema knowing nothing about it and wasnt in the mood to even be there, but withing 2 minutes I was hooked and it was a fantastic film. It was 150 minutes long but I just wanted it to keep going. The same could not be said for "Children of Men", which was to me the most depressing film I have ever seen. Children of Men was a very good film, its just not so good if you are already in a miserable mood and do not want to be depressed even further.

And you are lucky, Children of Men doesn't open in the US until late December.

Just wanted to add that Departed is a remake of a Hong Kong movie called Infernal Affairs. Check it out if you like...the original is always better...

Very recently:
Apt Pupil - about a teen that discovers a Nazi in his neighbourhood. A psychological thriller.

I really liked it pretty scary, but i think there's still another one to come or something cause it's still not really finished. Afterwards i was in the toilet and got really freaked out I saw hoodwinked as well, soooooo funny.
