I've recently been listening to nothing but cover versions after happening upon some on the web
Anybody care to divulge a liking of any cover version of a particular song? Here are a few of mine:
Franz Ferdinand - What You Waiting For?/White Wedding [covering Gwen Stefani/Billy Idol]
John Cale - Hallelujah (prefer this to the Jeff Buckley version) [Leonard Cohen]
Fiona Apple - Across the Universe [The Beatles, need I even point out]
Giant Drag - God Only Knows [The Beach Boys, again obviously]
KT Tunstall - Tangled Up In Blue [Bob Dylan]

Hi! My favorite cover version of all time is from Faith no more the song 'Easy'. The original version is from Lionel Richie I think, but the version of Faith no more is simply a masterpiece in music history. Also the video to this song is one of the best music videos ever made. LillyPop!

off the top of my head I can think of Wicked Game - Giant Drag (Chris Isaak cover) Enjoy the Silence - Lacuna Coil (Depeche Mode) Man Who Sold The World - Nirvana (David Bowie) And on the subject of Nirvana theres also the fantastic cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit by the Ukulele orchestra of Great Britain ;D Oh and anything by Weird Al Yankovic ;D

Ukulele orchestra rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D I heard their version of the Ms.Dynamite Song- so fuckin' cool
The best cover hhmmm- Faith no More Easy- deffinitely but it's Faith no More and I'd be a bit biased over that any song they touched was gold........... Must hear the John Cale Hallelujah and the Fiona Apple. I hear Rufus Wainright doing Accross the Universe much better than the original. Jimi Hendrix- all along the watch tower by Bob Dylan, although the hendrix version may have been released first have to check that one. The Doors- Gloria by The Them (Van Morrison) Nina Simone- again anytime she touch somebody else's song it just got better William Shatner- MrTambourine Man, cause sometimes it's better cause it's worse ;D

Must hear the John Cale Hallelujah and the Fiona Apple. I hear Rufus Wainright doing Accross the Universe much better than the original. Rufus Wainright also covered Hallelujah, I think its good but its nothing like Jeff Buckley's version. John Cale's version of Hallelujah is in a season 1 episode of Scrubs (I just looked that up, hehe) and its reealllyyy good ~i.a.

My favorite cover of all time is probably Deerhoof's cover of My Bloody Valentine's song "Lose My Breath":
I love Chelsea Wolfe's cover of Radiohead's "I Will":
