I have been working for the past few months on a novel. I've had a dream for a long time to write a best seller and become rich and famous. That is my life dream but its also become my ambition. I was wondering, does anybody else out there have a dream? What are your ambitions for life? Are shy people more or less ambitious than 'normal' people?

I dunno what ambitions I have. I dont really have any social or professional ones. I guess I'd like to be happy really and in love and not worry financially about things. I guess my ambition is contentment and well being.
A bit boring I know....

I'd like to be part of the Bee Gees juniors, does it matter if I can't dance? I plan on going to culinary school in the fall (hopefully). Owning my own cafe or being the chef for an upscale restaurant is my ambition.

Don't worry yourself, Neworleans, the Bee Gee's can't dance -or sing - themselves.

i only really want someone to share my life with. but, if i could pick one thing i wanted to do with my life, no matter how unrealistic, it would be becoming a japanese pop star (while i can't actually speak japanese, i can sing it fairly well.)

i only really want someone to share my life with. Yeah, that sounds like a good ambition to me, too. I don't know what I want to do with my life. My immediate ambition is to finish my Master's. Later, to get a cool job as a software developer. I tend to think I'll want more variety in my life than being a software developer all my life.

Hello, Well as far as goals in life: 1.) Immediate goal within the next year is to buy a condo. I am looking, but definitely want to move out of my parent's house and get out on my own. Becoming more independent is very much at the top of my list and moving out is part of that growth that I need. 2.) Career - It's up in the air. I currently work as a secretary, but I might venture into the tech field. However, based on the economy it's not a good area to be in right now (I work in the tech area so I know). 3.) Dating - Well this isn't a huge priority believe it or not. Never had a boyfriend so it's really hard to put a high priority than the other 2 on the list. But if something good with a great guy I meet comes around I am all for it. Of course marriage/children fall into this area. I do want that someday.

Are shy people not competetive? Not driven by ambition the way some people are? I'm not competetive in the slightest. It takes me a fortnight of pysching myself up just to get in a bad mood!

i hate forced competition, like in school.. i am slightly competitive when it comes to things i care about, but lately the that list is getting shorter and shorter.
