Of course Zionism is religious- its political goals are religiously inspired Some people use their faith as reasoning for it but they are very different things. You don't have to be religious, let alone Jewish to believe the Jewish people should have a homeland and therefore be a zionist. Some Jews aren't zionists. Not all zionists' views were religiously inspired. Centuries of persecution played a part for some apparently. Some people might vote Tony Blair because he is a christian, their motives would be religious but the act is political. It is an important distinction to me. Call me pedantic but I wanted to make the point you can disagree with zionism and not be anti-semitic. It's very easy to blur politics and religion which can be very dangerous. Religion goes to the core of peoples being, if you can manipulate a situation so that a political act becomes religious then you can exert alot of control over a vast amount of people. It is so much easier to convince people to commit murder if it is in the name of God and holiness rather than politics (although not much unfortunately). It is so much easier to encourage hatred of a people if they are infidels/evil/unworthy rather than just people with different opinions. If more people learnt to differentiate between the two then maybe we wouldn't have quite so much killing each other over rock property rights.

it can be especially dangerous with religions that qualify everyone guilty and suffering as the process of becoming innocent
