I find this more frustrating the more I come across it.
Why is it that people just refuse to admit they lie?
Everyone lies!
When you ask someone if they lie and they are like oh no I would never lie and 5 minutes later they are telling about hiding their $300 shopping spree from the husband and saying they only spent $50. That is lying.
I guess the part that really bothers me is the holier than thou attitude or the martyr attitude some people, mostly female have. The oh I would never do that! I would never lie!
What a crock! You will and you do lie everyday so fess up about your lying and stop lying about it!
;D

yeah everyone lies .
but the thing that gets me are the people who are ruthless and will say the harshest things because they are "honest" yet you know that they will lie quite easily to cover their own asses or for anything that might effect them .So they are admired for being blunt but really all they are is selfish.

I do this sometimes largely because I'm just entierly oblivious to the fact that what I'm saying is offensive. I can't say I've ever been admired for it though.

I would never expect people who lie often to suddenly tell the truth when asked about the very thing they are in the habit of doing.

When I lie it's really obvious. People can tell when i'm lying. Then I admit that i've lied. Does that mean i'm not a proper liar?

It's true everyone lies I guess. But I can say I try not to do it to the point I'm sometimes weird about it. If I don't want to admit to something I'll sometimes be lazy on details or just vague enough to mislead, or just say I'd prefer they don't ask me that, but I really don't like to deliberately tell one thing when it's opposite of the truth. It just seems wrong... It kind of works against me when I'm trying to keep secrets from questioning nosy people...lol. I guess in an extreme occasion I might be pushed to lie, but I wouldn't like it.

Yeah I'm similar, my way of covering up things is of the being intentionally vague variety. I'm terrible at the bare faced lies anyway which can be spotted a mile off so I prefer not to do it and would normally feel guilty anyway. One reason why I'm bad at job interviews

i don't like lying but more than that i hate being lied to.
it depends what i'm lying about if it's a big lie it's too stressful and i usually come out and admit it...
sometimes instead of lying i just omit details and i think that's probably just as bad.. but in that way you don't really have to remember what you told the person ..the less you say the better! lol

Honesty and trust really are a big treasure in my opinion. I often see that people lie or talk two faced and I think it really is sad. Of course, in fact you never know if people say the truth or not.

I don't lie very often. Not because I have morals, but because I know I am not very good at it.
