I finished watching Archer season 7 so now the new season of Black Mirror & Westworld are what I'm planning on watching. I've only seen the first episode of Black Mirror season 3, the first on Netflix, and... I don't know, it's strange. No spoilers, but on the one hand, it's a brilliant episode of BM. It's vintage. There's an argument it's the best story so far, but, I'm just not sure if transporting the entire series to America is a great idea. It's fundamentally British and it does work in America, but how will the series will fare in the long run? It's highly cinematic and not overly American, except the accents and the locations and the British actors doing dodgy American accents - but it didn't feel as gritty or as dirty as the first two seasons. It's weird. It's brilliant and a little off at the same time. The acting feels a bit shonky as well... You do worry that it'll gain so many new viewers that they'll go back to the first two seasons and wonder why they're so different. But, you know, shows evolve. Once viewed from the end of the season you'll get a better idea of how the differences have affected it. It's brave, bold, confident and brilliant - but is it Black Mirror? Mmm, not sure...

I watched the first two episodes today, I hope to watch three more tomorrow. You see I would love to join you in saying it did depart and become a little bit too American, the character in the first episode, appears too much like a sage of a character, which to me seemed like one more American aspect of tv. But it does retain that one aspect of Black Mirror shows which is the glib view of society and a depressing outlook for the future. I mean the first episodes ending was quite bittersweet for reasons that are full of spoilers. However it ultimately retains the unique outlook of Black Mirror or at least appears to so I am quite content with what I've seen thus far. I don't have the same attachment to British shows as yourself so I'm ok if they change the setting but don't compromise on the idea.

I've recently watched the first 35 episodes of DARK SHADOWS from 1966. Can't remember if I've already told that on this thread, but don't want to go back a page to find out for sure that I haven't.
DARKS SHADOWS had 1245 episodes, and I suppose if I wanted to make that the One and Only Obession of my life I could see all of them (actually, one I couldn't see since only the soundtrack survives today), I could do so.
But, I have other things more important to do with my life.

I've seen the first two episodes of 'Class,' the new online only Doctor Who spin-off that's just started.
Erm, did they say this was for kids? I certainly wouldn't show it to my kids...
Extremely bloody in places, and graphic, and violent, and implied violence, and more blood, and nudity - and I think there's some kinky stuff in the next episode.
It's set at Coal Hill school and revolves around some students having to deal with stuff that shows up there from around the universe. Essentially.
It's rather good, but A) Don't watch with your children, and B) Don't watch whilst you're eating.
Really don't do that last one...

Good golly, the four way Supergirl/Flash/Arrow/Legends crossover looks immense. Wouldn't surprise me if it was better than the Justice League movie:
I'm still hoping Supes shows up after his appearances in Supergirl. There must be a suprise in there somewhere...
Also, really enjoyed Black Mirror's 'Shut Up and Dance,' the third ep of season 3. The best so far. One of BM's finest ever, in fact.
Vintage television. Internet television. Intervision. What do we call this, perchance?
Oh, and Planet Earth 2. I mean, that's obviously awesome...

I'm watching the Matrix movies on AMC. They're really good. I realize they're old, but I'm getting into this genre of scifi now so it's become more of an interest to me. I'm hoping to acquire some of these type of movies via that movie site I mentioned.

I almost forgot. A couple of weeks ago, i happen to watch this Korean movie that i've never heard of before. But i was surprised that i enjoyed the film.
The title of the movie is "200 Pound Beauty". It's a romantic comedy movie. Apparently, it was a very successful movie when i tried to google it. This got me interested in other Korean movies of more or less the same genre.
Though it does tackle some sensitive issues like how appearances matter in countries like South Korea. That it has greatly influenced their culture and their overall attitudes/values towards it.
So if you're not that sensitive about the matter, i'd recommend watching the movie.

There's a lovely Spanish crime thriller on BBC at the moment, called I Know Who You Are. Very well written, acted and directed.
I've honestly never seen a television show where the entire cast are bastards. They're all lying about something...
I just can't figure out how it's gonna end or who did what.
It's basically about a guy who goes missing the same day as his niece. He has a car accident, but when he's found, not only is his niece not with him but the guy has total amnesia. Or does he? Hmm... They find her blood in the back of his car, and so begins the mystery. Did he kill her? Lawyer and prosecutor drama, a university torn apart by the tragedy and lies. Family drama. Investigators and moles. Complex layers upon layers. Protagonists changing into antagonists and vice versa several times an episode. It's great stuff.
It's like nothing I've ever seen before. I mean, Ana, the missing girl, is not a character you're particularly rooting for. I mean, in the last episode she tried to sleep with her uncle and when he rejected her she settled for her brother. It shouldn't be so addictive, but it really is.
I can't wait for the inevitable American remake...
BTW, is it just me, or do the Spanish talk ridiculously quick?
If you find a subtitled version of it, be prepared for some quick reading...

Watching another movie on Vision tv (Canadian station). It's a Sherlock Holmes type movie. I love whodunnit type movies. I've been watching (or at least listening while knitting lol) to Murdoch Mysteries lately also which I've found very interesting. The investigative personality I have at times draws me to mystery type shows. Also caught a short from Vic (Star Trek Continues) over on youtube. I'll put it/the link here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQG8X5IHpagI thought it was neat that he's conservative in mentality with a "live and let live" sort of thing (same as myself, that's how I feel also).

I recently watched a comedy series called 'the it crowd' which I really liked.
It's basically about a lady (Jen) who gets a job as head of IT at a high profile company except she knows nothing about computers, she lied on her CV about having expiriance with them. Anyway she ends up working with 2 nerds (Roy and Moss) and it leads to some pretty funny scenarios. Roy wants a girl freind, but is hopeless, and Moss is just a crazy and weird character.
If you like comedies (probably English humor) or computers really, check it out. I found it pretty funny due to the relatable factor of the awkwardness they manage to get into.
Oh yes btw, it's quite an old show so it may be hard to find.

I have not watched any feature films or TV shows lately.
Arizona, my SIA co-founder, sent me a battered old cover, retired VHS rental copy of Stanley Kramer's Bless the Beasts and the children but I dont know when I will watch it.
It was filmed in locations that Arizona has lived near, and still lives near.
I saw Stanley Kramer's On the Beach, and found it extremelhy depressibg, and I am expecting the same effect from Bless the Beasts and the Children (Karen Carpenter, whol sung the title song, starved herself to death from anorexia nervosa).
The feature films I hve watched recently were mostly short, runnkng about an hour to 70 mins, and while BTBATC at 109 mins, is not as long to be depressed by a film as On The Beach, which ran probably over 2 hours, it's still 109 depressing minutes to look or not look forward to.

I've also been thinking about watching the old 1943 and 1949 movie house serials of Batman and Robin.
Found them for free on u tube or some other such webpage, but didn't get a good playback, and gave up for the time being.
I did, at one time watch all of the chapters of a 1940s theatricl serial, probably KIng of the Rocket Mean, and found it an experience worth having.
