I'm amazed that the second woman is still alive. It's such a night and day difference listening to this and watching the Jenna Jameson True Hollywood Story. i didn't have any idea what you were talking about so i searched on youtube. ick. i can't even watch it. i guess i'm not missing much not having tv. i'm at work right now and there's a tv here. i just saw part of a show where guys were hooking up electrodes to their private parts and shocking each other. very freakin weird. no wonder i stay home so much.

I think one of the reasons that Jenna Jameson has such a positive view of the porn industry is because she was able to become famous and make a lot of money in the process of becoming a porn star. If she had wound up like Shelley Lubben, then she might be denouncing it as well. Here's some videos of former porn star Aria talking about her life in the adult industry. Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6

Jenna Jameson is still in the porn industry so there's no way she is going to say anything bad about it, other than say "it's a hard industry"And second, Shelley said that porn stars are "compulsive liars". I don't know if Jenna is, but there is a possibility that she is downplaying it's downside because of it's upside, which for her is enourmous: huge money and fame. After all, she is the most famous one of them all.

i'm sure it's true that porn stars get exploited, but so do alot of ordinary hardworking people employed in a vast array of work fields. for example - laborers, pink collar clerical workers, service industry workers, agricultural workers, etc....many of whom are openly exploited - underpaid, overworked and often treated with disrespect by their employers and the general public. just taking the devil's advocate position, why should we care more about these people than any of the others?

I don't know what I expected for this thread. Maybe somebody is going to come out and say "These women are liars!" or something.
I don't think porn stars are the victims here. They choose to do it and they bear the responsibility and consequences of that free choise.
Sweet Pea, make a thread about exploited workers since you want to talk about them. I'll be especially looking forward to your solutions to the problems you present.
The solution from the women in this thread is clear "Get out of the porn industry!" ;D
