Oh no, Sweet Pea...I'm sorry to hear that!
Was it the job with that evil no-good boss man?
Even if I chicken out and want to keep my current job in May when the contract's up, I think they'll probably 'let me go' anyway...

Oh no, Sweet Pea...I'm sorry to hear that! Was it the job with that evil no-good boss man? nah, it was the extremely misguided one.

I currently have a job, but our office has had some layoffs in the last 8 months, and it has been hinted that I may go too if anymore layoffs come.....

I'm bumping this one to the top, in case my friend arizona from Arizona has any more news for us.
I haven't been too active for awhile on this board, and neither has arizona. And, looking over sweetpea's post list, it seems she hasn't been too active the past few years, but I'm glad to see that she is becoming more active, and is a Global Moderator.
When sweetpea did become inactive a few years ago, I was very sorry, since I haven't been able to make many friends on this board, and she was then & still is a good friend of mine.
I'm hopint that posting more here will beneift me, and everyone else on the board.

I'm glad that you bumped this thread, because this is a very common problem today. I was unemployed for seven months in 2012. I'm running on a federal funded grant position that's ending in August, but I also just rehired by City of Houston to work in their libraries. It's only part tine right now, but things are looking up for everyone in the area and hopfully I'll get to be full time after a while. As for Sweetpea and others, well, we have a saying here. If people don't post here regularly hopefully it means they're out in the real world enjoying a real life.

Astroruss, I'd like to know who things are with your own employment three years after that last post.
I have recently applied to Wal Mart, and did not pass their assessment test.
They say that passing the test is required for "some" of the jobs they offer, but do not say which jobs require passing the test, and which jobs don't require passing the test.

JOY TO THE WORLD ! ! !
I recently re-applied to Wal Mart, and, guess what?
I PASSED THE ASSESSMENT TEST !!!
I credit my passing the test to advice I had gotten from some more experienced job seekers.
