Thanks for the answer do women ever consider other men when they are in a relationship or does it depend on the situation.

I think in the days since the "sexual revolution," many factors have come in to play into the problems the original poster is talking about.
I think easy access to abortion is one thing. Don't get me wrong, I don't think abortion should necessarily be outlawed, but I think is a state issue, and I do not think the Supreme Court should have officially sanctioned it.
The idea that fathers are not so necessary in the raising of a child anymore have made many men feel irrelevant.
There is not the pressure on men to help support their children anymore... the government has stepped in to not only help out, but sometimes actually encourage single-parent homes.
These are all political issues, you notice, that have fed this very social issue.
It was actually easier for shy people, I suspect, in the days when "virgin" was actually a good word, not a dirty word.

Some people still have values but it seems others are more careless with sexual encounters.

Fathers are seen as important in raising their child its just nowadays it not only financial. And what stops men from being more involved in parenting ....the old fashioned values that a man should be involved in full time work no matter what his wife is doing..The reason why feminism isn't working is because men still have the same expectations laid upon them. Virgin wasn't considered a good thing for men. It was always that men could sleep around but women had to be chaste.

What ever happened to decency what ever happened to love? Theses days it seems easy for a young man to have 20 sexual partners in a year. So where are all the nice people my town dover seems a commoners town.Yet i go 20 miles inland and the people of canterbury seems abit more open minded. I was at work the other day and my mate joked to this girl that shes seeing a certain somone as she was complaining about a lack of sex life recently it seems people expect it these days.Although when i laughed at her she told me to shut up in a shy way Lol. Hello, Its not a "generation" thing, and it sure isn't ours. We are more open with our sexuality, that song "Papa was a rollin' stone", didn't come from us, lol. Anyways, I think society is just more corrupt with what it accepts. I'm only 23 years old and their is even somethings is to much for age range. My little brother and I always converse about how we should have been born earlier, lol.

I wouldn't say that... at least none of my friends is sex-crazy and well, I'm not too (which maybe doesn't count xD ) In general, I would say some are sex mad, others not, but I wouldn't generalize it. Young people always were more crazy about sex than older generations and I often read that the people who are more "middle-aged" often are very active in terms of sex. So we maybe are simply in a time of free love and pleasure. The end result is population increase. Not really. In fact, thanks to protection from pregnancy and less people wanting to have kids in the western world, we rather should fear extinction. For example, in Germany we only have statistically 1,5 kids per family ... who wants to know, you need 2 for population to stay like it is and in general at least 2,5 for letting it stay (0,5 are said to die before they get old enough, at least in statistics) The reasons for lesser birth rates are actually pretty good, at least the ones that most studies show: safer sex and better career chances for women. ( at least I think that these both are good )
