Any Doctor Who fans on the forum? I've seen all the episodes from the new series...and I'm slowly working my way through the classic series.

Through the power of netflix I'm slowly working my way through the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton episodes...It sucks that most of them are missing though, especially from Patrick's years.
I'm now going to bore you with the episodes I've watched.
Keys Of Marinus- It's a slow bit slightly interesting story involving a quest for keys for a machine that essentially controls people and ends crimes...several different locations are used so it's a bit of a cluster, but I enjoyed it.
The Dalek Invasion Of Earth- I'd seen the movie remake of this story before so I already knew the a basic plot. My main interest in this was seeing Susan's exit from the show.
Tomb of the Cyberman- My first real Patrick Troughton story. The 60's cybermen look so ridiculas compared to the newest versions, lol. It was a pretty interesting episode though.
Wheel in space-only episodes 3 and 6 exist for this story, so it was kind of confusing...another cybermen story.

Just because I've found a Doctor Who forum to join, doesn't mean I'm going to stop boring my fave people with my quest to watch every episode. ;D
The Mind Robber- Another weird one for the 2nd Doctor, solving riddles and interacting with characters from classic literature.
The Rescue- The first story after Susan leaves and the introduction of Vicki. This story was suprisingly cool, and it was only 50 mins so it wasn't drawn out like most of the early stories.

The Romans- Quite interesting history wise, involving Nero.
The Space Museum- Another weird one, but it has an interesting plot involving time and whether it can be changed.

The Web Planet- 2 and a half hours is way too long to watch a bunch of people dressed as giant alien ant and bumblebee creatures run around.
The Chase- Daleks! Mostly I was interested in this story because it's the last one to feature Barbara and Ian.

So I watched the Christmas Special last night, which was okay...although I was puzzled at how the Doctor didn't seem to care about changing time, breaking several rules, lol.
Currently I'm watching The War Machines...the only story available from season 3. Started slow but it's quite interesting. Basically it's about an A.I that becomes homicidal...a bit like skynet, but better! It can hypnotise humans, and builds war machines that can jam any human guns in the area somehow, lol.

Yeah I watched the Dr Who special. It got a bit better towards the end but overall I wasn't that impressed. I'm used to Dr Who disappointing me though, so wasn't too big a deal. I agree with your observation about him going back in time without a 2nd thought. I found that a bit odd too. I also don't get why he left his two companions on that ship which was about to crash. Rather odd. Anwyays he could easily have rescued the entire crew in the Tardis, so it all seemed rather pointless.

Yeah, it definetly wasn't the best one, lol. Hopefully they'll have better stuff in series 6.

Just watched the Lost in time: William Hartnell years, which has bits and pieces from some of the missing episodes. It's kind of hard to follow...and the surviving episodes are kind of boring, lol.

The Invasion - Too be honest, this one is kinda boring, and way too long (8 episodes). Although because two of the episodes were missing, they used the original audio over some animation, which way pretty cool. Also, the Brigider is in this one.

Seeds of Death- Much better this time, and I got to giggle at the constantly hissing Ice warriors. ;D

The War Games- Patrick's last serial. Was actually pretty cool, although it's a bit long at 10 episodes, 8 would have been enough. First time where we find out that the Doctor's race are called the Time Lords.

Lost in time- Patrick Troughton years- I kinda only half paid attention to these, since again they are only bits and pieces of random stories. Spearhead from space- Jon Pertwee's first story, plus the first to be filmed in colour. The original story involving the Nestene and plastic shop window dummies of death. ;D

The Doctor Who series looks interesting, but I don't know if I want to go back and watch them from the very start. Should I bother with the earlier series? Where's a good season to start?

Doctor Who and the Silurians - The first story involving the Silurians (who appeared in the new series recently with Matt Smith). I'd seen this one before as a kid.
