I thought 'Closing Time' was pretty cute too, though the ending was a little scary and sad. Now I am impatient for next weeks episode!

So, without wanting to over-egg a good pun, Silence Seems To Have Fallen. What did anyone think of the final episode then?

I quite liked the final episode of the season. I like any episode with the 'silence' as they always freak me out a little. And, I liked the whole, 'time stopped' thing, I thought that was interesting.

I liked the final episode, but i think I was expecting something more epic and emotional. I also guessed how he would get around his 'death' halfway through. But overall I enjoyed it...need to watch the whole season again in one go.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the final episode, but at the same time I was a bit releived that the resolution didn't involve a Universe-encompassing disaster as previous season finales seem to have done. Looking forward to Christmas and seeing more of Matt Smith next year, and I'm hoping that the Doctor's promise to 'step back into the shadows' might see a return to a darker and more manipulative character, along the lines of the Sylvester McCoy's Seventh Doctor. But I'm sort of dreading the day when it's announced Matt Smith is moving on, and it seems his exit story is already plotted and ready to go if the reference to 'The Fall Of the Eleventh' is anything to go by.

Since Moffet likes to mess with people, I'm not going to take 'fall of the eleventh' seriously until I get more evidence, lol. But if that plot has already been decided I'm hoping it wont be till at least Series 8, I'd like for Matt to stick around for a while. To be honest I'd like someone to challenge Tom Baker's record of 7 seasons, but I doubt anyone will like to take it for that long.

Yeah, it could have been a more spectacular ending in terms of how he got around his death. It was still good though.

I figured I'd update my classic series viewing (because I know you are all so interested ) First Doctor:The Gun Fighters- The Doctor gets mixed up with Doc Holiday and the O.K Corral shooting. Kinda cool. Third Doctor:The Terror of the Autons- More killer plastic dummies! Also this is the first story involving the Master. Fourth Doctor:The Robots of DeathThe Talons of Weng-ChiangHorror Of Fang RockThe Invisible Enemy- First one with K-9! Quite a while back I started watching Doctor Who from the beginning, although my viewing / listening tends to go in fits and starts. I finished Troughton's first season a few weeks back, and I'm having a break from a few weeks before resuming, my next story will be 'Tomb of the Cybermen'.

Tomb of the Cybermen is pretty cool, hope you enjoy it! I really wish that so many episodes weren't missing from the early seasons...makes it impossible to watch them all.

'Tomb' was a bit of a holy grail - it was missing for years before being recovered from a dusty archive somwwhere. Troughton was brilliant wasn't he?

I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special this morning before work. I thought it was pretty good Nothing spectacular, but really sweet and 'Christmas-y' lol. A good story as well. Plus, I'm pretty sure that was Bill Bailey in there at one point. ;D
