I'll be knocking around in the room for a bit if anyone fancies a bit of chat and a lot of awkward silence?

I was thinking about looking into the chat room again to see if anyone was still going there. But I can't seem to find the server on the list any more. Am I just looking in the wrong place?

No, I think IRC rooms always expire after a while if they're not actively maintained/used. You could have tried SAS chat which uses flash not IRC, but it's been down for ages and no-one knows when/if it will even return in the same form. Someone on SAS linked www.socialanxietysupportchat.com, it seems ok and isn't affiliated to any forum. Perhaps it's just not worth having an official, maintained SU chatroom if there's almost no-one to regularly use it anymore! So what about a completely ad-hoc room, which only ever exists if anyone wants to use it? I suggest using irc.europnet.org and #shychat. It seems to be a French network, so that name is unlikely ever to be taken. Just enter the details into Mibbit or whatever.

I might look into the chat thanks! The only problem is not knowing anyone else there so not feeling comfortable saying anything. Is SAS another forum? Is it worth posting on/are the people friendly? I like the idea of having somewhere like that so if the occasion arises we can have somewhere to chat! I've check it out definitely looks empty. It would be great if people wanted to use it sometime I find it so much easier talking to people I know well "know"

SAS is a very large and active shy forum. I post there often as CharlotteTortoise, it's pretty good really and most people are friendly.
