Hi all, I'm not sure if there is a similar thread somewhere in the forum, but I thought it might be a good idea. Just reflecting on what has happened in the past few years for me, i found that when i write down what i want to change in my life and set a to do list, it really gets me going to achieve the goal. I think especially with a supportive network, you are more likely to feel accountable. I would like to start off my to do list for 2012 and hopefully others may join me on this journey? I will update the post each time I am closer to the goal or have completed the goal. Top 10 for 20121. Pay off credit card debt and set aside money for second hand car/holiday 2. Still find time to attend some fun stuff whilst studying such as Supernova (nerd/geek delight),Superfest (music festival), comedy festival and The Illusionist spectacular 3. Learn how to swim (so then i can progress to learn how to surf) 4. Learn how to ride a bike (I'm serious!!) 5. Lose 8kg in 2012 (this is 10 percent of my current weight) for health purpose - doctor advise me I'm not overweight anymore but obese...oh dear...... 6. Complete my Accounts Administration course - OTEN (TAFE) with flying colours, once achieved - approach boss about new qualifications and possibility of doing other roles in the organisation. 7. Organise to see counsellor/psychologist or even psychiatrist to sort out some of the issues that i have not been able to cope with....would like to avoid the "breakdowns" i have been having in 2011. 8. To reach Grade 4 in Wing Chun (once you pass grade 4, you can be a trainee instructor) 9. Be more independent (sounds vague right?) well to be able to cook a proper meal for the family, learn about the family budget, if possible find a way to get a second income to supplement the budget, improve driving skills to transport parents rather than the other way around and much more once i figure out what it is. 10. To perform better in my role at work which requires me to have a clear knowledge of our policies, increase awareness of other services in the community that would assist our clients (the elderly) and be more organised/better time management. If somehow i find that i completed these goals much faster than i expected (which i doubt immensely) then i will add more to the list. So......what do my fellow shy uniters think about this idea? Would you like to put your top 10 list for 2012 here too? Definitely will support everyone (including myself) all the way! Live long and prosper everyone ;D

Hi MissKlew, thanks for restarting your list again. It is quite interesting. So many questions i would like to ask but i refrain, in case it is too imposing. I hope you will find success this year to get some of these tasks off your list. You can do it! * does a whole cheerleading routine* Woop Woop!! ;D

hmmm... 1. change my evil ways, baby 2. turn on the lights 3. heat up the pots 4. stop hangin round with who knows who 5. stop makin you feel like a clown Lord knows, i got to change! ;D Now basing this on face value, i am lead to believe this is a send up (made in jest) therefore here is my solution. Points 1 to 5 can be resolved by holding a flaming stick (stick with flame aka burning torch) 1. change my evil ways, baby By holding a flaming stick, all the darkness is driven away 2. turn on the lights By holding a flaming stick, you will be able to see and find the light switch 3. heat up the pots Do i really need to explain how it is related....seriously??4. stop hangin round with who knows who Strange thing about holding a flaming stick and approaching people....they tend to get scared and run away5. stop makin you feel like a clown When approached by someone holding a flaming stick, feeling like a clown is the last emotion i have....... confused and frightened usually tops the list Now i really hope that the list is fake or I'm in some serious trouble with Sweet Pea.....and here is the point where i try to redeem myself With all goals.....sometimes the start is the hardest as proven below:

Do you have long to go, paying off the loan? I tend to be a night owl but find doing a lot of housework usually drains me to the point that i drop off to sleep easily which kinda also helps with point 5. Good luck with the healthy eating and exercising....maybe we can share tips later?? Have fun with your meet up and have you tried setting an alarm on your phone to remind you on taking the multivitamins? I'm still working on 8 and 9 myself but if i find out anything helpful...you will be the first one to know. I look forward for you to complete number 10 especially ;D You can do it! ;D

10. Work up the courage to get a web cam and talk to my awesome su friends with it! DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT ;D ;D As for my list: 1. Continue to attend my boxing circuit twice a week. 2. Organize my psychologist stuff so I can go to sessions this year. 3. Order some Primal Fuel and see how it goes: primalblueprint.com/products/Primal-Fuel.html4. Continue putting away $50 + 10% of my pay into my savings account and $50 towards paying off my schooling fees each week. 5. Make better food choices, but without feeling guilty when I decide to indulge in something unhealthy. 6. Read more books. 7. Consistently get to bed at a more reasonable hour (I was doing good for a while but I've slipped lately, need to get back to sleeping around the 11pm-midnight range at least) 8. Sort out whether I'm studying again this year, or finding new work. 9. Research options for small-scale investments. 10. Remember to take my new sunglasses with me when I go out! (they don't do any good sitting at home!) These are way more like resolutions than "To-Do's" but I can still monitor and update them as I go

3. Completely stop using sleeping pills to help me sleep. Have you tried melatonin? It works for me. Much on my list is the same as others': 1. Get to sleep 30 minutes earlier than usual (thanks for reminding me, geekguy) 2. Save significantly more money each month 3. make major advances in my job/career (vague, I know) 4. Finally finish the book "Phenomenon of Man" (WAY before the end of 2012) and read a few others 5. stop having pasta for at least 4 months to see if that helps me lose more weight

Ahh... yes, it seems debt clearing is a common factor for most of us. Do you have long to go, paying off the loan? My car loan is currently set to pay off in 2013, but I plan to get it paid off in 2012..... unless something horrible happens lol I never thought about setting an alarm for my multivitamins, that's a great idea. When I'm being very good and organized about things I use a week long pill minder box, but I usually get lazy about refilling it I would love to hear any tips you have for 8 and 9! ;D
