In one sentence, what can you compare being shy or introverted to? There are many different ways to describe it, but I will start off by saying (speaking only for myself )... Being shy/introverted is like being sober in a room full of drunks.

Being shy and introverted (for me) is like carrying a heavy bag of secret unsaid thoughts and ideas until they get so heavy I am overwhelmed, and need to exercise them off.

Being shy/introverted is like being made to watch the school dance you weren't invited to.

Being shy/introverted is like playing poker. You hold your cards close to you, but you can see everyone else's.

the people on this board are so eloquent and insightful. if only the world could peek a little deeper and see what's behind the shy smiles, lookaway stares, and quiet nature. revealed would be a people who were able to grow and mature with little influence from the pressures of negative social stimuli like promiscuity, drugs, alcohol etc. we have some great minds here. get your voice out more by doing what you do best, writing. I encourage you all to post more and more often. you have provided some truly interesting reads over the years.

Being shy/introverted is very much like the rain. Be it plenty of people are so quick to assume it is dull and boring there is so much more to it and the reason of it, say to quench nature's thirst for H20 or rather to clean the area off overall and give it say, some new said cleaner air.

Hi there. I am new to this forum and I just saw this thread and thought it was interesting.
For me, being shy/introverted is like being a puzzle piece. Some puzzle pieces fit together but in the wrong way. You have to find the right spot, but meanwhile you try to squash yourself into all kinds of places until you realise you don't belong there. I hope this makes sense... :/ and sorry for my english.
