Go to this website to measure your reaction time against the average. I took this test 6 times and threw out my first result, since it was 4 times longer than my other times. The average of my 5 tries was 244 milliseconds. The average time of all people taking the test is 215 ms. So apparently I'm slow, which makes sense to me because I feel that way. I'm wondering how other people here do.

I'm not that quick either apparently despite years of playing video games ( though I guess that shows that I rarely play games that require speed, I tend to favor precision ), my average on 5 tries is 238 ms.

338. Stupid test. I'm 22. I shouldn't be 338 milliseconds.
Oh dear Lord.
If you're slow Marle, what does that make me? Medically dead, probably.
(I did it 5 times and got the average).

Well I made that comment not knowing if their data was from an accurate cross-section of people. It could be that the test attracts people with quick reaction times. So really, my comment was pretty worthless.
I had lots of coffee and I'm in the time of day where I feel most energetic (late afternoon here). I was only referring to feeling slow generally. So many variables...
But anyway, did your individual times vary widely or were they all close to your average?

They started at around 360 and got better and better until I hit around 305. Then they got worse. They were sporadic at best. It said my average was 338. I don't recall hitting that, but hey, if it said it was the average...
I did it at 9:08 pm UK time and I was juggling several different things at once. I think by that point I'd had a breakdown and decided to relax and check my old internet haunts.
It was an interesting test.

I actually redid the test a second time today and I've improved my score : 220 ms being my average on 5 tries. The first three times I had exactly the same number ( 230 ms ) and then the fourth and fifth I did quite a bit better ( between 190 and 200 ms ).
Overall, an interesting and enjoyable test. My OCD might kick in and make me want to do it once every day just to see how much I can improve ;D.

I'm averaging 246ms, but I always thought my reactions were bad. Spork, don't ever drive a car.

My genuine average was around 280. My best was 37 when trying to cheat.
Many of the top scores are probably people just messing around. You don't get penalized for a "false start," and you only need 5 good hits, so I can believe there were enough people who spent a few hours trying to pull off the perfect game.
What me? No I do important stuff...
EDIT: Oh, scratch that. Their bell curve suggests otherwise.
I'll just add that one thing that made a difference for me is my computer setup. After moving from external screen & mouse to laptop & trackpad I was about 30ms quicker.
And now, back to important stuff...

I've driven a car before, Ura. It went well. I mean, there was this one occasion where I didn't spot a puddle whilst travelling at 75 miles per hour, which I hit and ended up veering off to the right and side-swiped the central reservation barrier, but apart from that...
