Thank you guys I was surprised I pulled that off. I really wanna do some more when I get the chance. Any one have any ideas as to what I should do, I'll take requests! lol A penguin would be cute Ooo, a penguin would indeed be cute! I might want to work with sculpey clay next time I do something....but I'd have to find a kiln to use...i think my friend's mom has one, but the only thing is I'd have to make nice with his alcoholic girlfriend again. Hmm, would it be worth it...

I'm inspired to share my first little victory that happened many years ago. It was my first year in college. My friend really wanted to join the drama club but didn't want to do it alone. Being extremely shy I had no interest, but he convinced me to just sign up and go to a meeting with him. My first semester I helped out with backstage stuff, met some new friends, and really had no plans to do anything but that. My second semester they had a one act festival and they were short of actors. So I was recruited to be in one of the plays. After lots of rehearsal and practice I was still completely terrified of getting on stage the night of the first performance. I knew couldn't let my friends down and I had to push through my fear. When I finally got on stage I stumbled through my lines and I am sure my nervousness showed. It was probably one of the worst acting performances ever. The victory is that even though I was afraid and nervous I was able to overcome that and do 3 performances. By the end I actually found that I liked being on stage, once I got over the fear. So I eventually did more plays, and continued to improve my acting. I still got nervous but I was able to teach myself to handle it much better and look like a pro on stage. I also was able to apply the same skills to when I had to do speeches in my classes. I just took and practiced every speech like I was doing a performance on stage and was able to greatly improve my public speaking skills. I went from about peeing my pants in high school when I gave a speech to being able to look almost confident when doing it in college. Anyways, I think the little victory in all our cases is being able to overcome or at least get through the fear. If you can find a way to overcome fear in little ways it soon gets easier to overcome fear in bigger things. Performing and speaking in public is a huge accomplishment!

I might have an opportunity to speak at a convention.
I applied so if I get accepted I will post and then post more as I get ready because that is really nerve wracking public spreaking

Just received a 19% raise in salary, starting retroactively from 6 weeks ago. Better keep the façade going...

Leaving school without a single GCSE and going to college to do GCSEs and A-levels as an adult and getting in to University to study biomedical science.
Every Tom, Dick and Harry gets into Uni these days, but 10 years ago, if someone said I would, I wouldn't have believed them.
Being crippling shy is actually probably the only thing I don't like about myself.

I'm becoming less shy as I get older, just doing stuff that a few years ago would have frightened me stiff doesn't seem that daunting anymore.

However, spending so much of my life being so quiet seems to have prevented me from developing proper social skills. So, I may not be as reclusive as I once was but still very socially awkward. Oh well,.. One thing at a time I guess.

Based on the posts of a few other people here I'm hoping that in 3 maybe 5 years I will gradually improve, I agree also a few years I ago I was incredibly shy, I'm shy now but just less than I used to be.
