Thanks for the Discord support Jaeksmith! I'll seriously look into maybe setting one up soon!
I really want to try VR sometime in the next year too. I have the computer for it, I just need to save up for a VR set. Maybe if I get a good tax refund...

Name: Tim Nickname on SU: Knox Update: Job wise: Been Cooking professionally for the past 6ish years... Not crazy about it and trying to figure something else out. Social wise: I dont really experience social anxiety as much anymore but still don't have great social/interpersonal skills. Really just a lack of trying if I'm honest. So, still not much of a social life. I'm more depressed than anxious nowadays. Reasons for coming back to Shy United: Bored... Missed you guys. Areas of Improvement on ShyUnited: hmmm... not sure Wishlist: I duuno Fun Fact: Much like Scotty, I've also been toying with the idea of live streaming but playing guitar not video games. I streamed for like 30 minutes a few weeks ago and only had one viewer who said nothing in the chat. Even though I'm socially challenged i do enjoy playing guitar for people. I'm weird I know..

Hey Knox! Missed you man, glad you are still around! I hope you do more live guitar playing. Even if you only get a few viewers I think it's worth it. If you feel comfortable doing so, feel free to advertise on SU when you next do a stream.

I might do that. I tend to have mondays and tuesdays off... so those would be the most likely days that it would happen.

Name: Andrew Nickname on SU: Slinky Update: Still working, which I'm thankful for after the year 2020 turned out to be. Feel I've come a heck of a long way since I first joined this forum. Become much more comfortable in my introverted nature, and can't say if I regard myself as much of a shy person anymore. Then again I don't know whether that is down to getting older and just not caring as much! Reasons for coming back to Shy United: I have popped in on the odd rare occasion. Like others, I do miss the 'old days' now and again, though that is going on for 10 years ago really! Was never super active on the forum itself, but I do miss the heyday of the chat and the magnificent folk I met there Areas of Improvement on ShyUnited: Again, as someone has said, I think time has left old message boards behind, which is such a shame considering how active this place used to be. Perhaps the only way is the Discord way, or some similar platform. I'd hate to see this place go, but nostagia only gets you so far :/ Wishlist: Short of the chat arising like a phoenix from the flames? Connecting with my old friends again. Banter and laughs aplenty. Though I fear my humour in that regard is sorely out of practice! Fun Fact: I have met four people from this forum in person. One of whom has become a very close friend and I treasure dearly
Love you guys

If you feel comfortable sharing the link Knox, I'll do my best to check you out when you decide to stream again
And same to you Scotty, if you decide to go ahead and stream yourself

Maybe I’m really old fashioned, but why not record some of your talents and then provide like a You Tube link? Again, live streams are probably the thing to do, but with various time and schedule differences, it might be easier to share your talents in a recorded way?

I plan to do some youtube too (I actually have a video that I might put up sometime...maybe...once it's edited). Live streaming has a different experience to it though, being able to talk to your audience in real time.

I think twitch automatically saves every stream you do for a few days and you can save clips from them permanently if you want. So best of both worlds really.

If anyone decides to link a recorded performance (on I’m assuming the talent portion of this site) I’ll certainly provide my viewership.

Cooking --- what type of stuff do you cook? In regards to depression...I'm a proponent for medication -- if that's something you need, no shame. I hate the thought of people not trying it because of the Stigma that's attached to it. Mine was pretty bad. I feel more normal on something. I feel I lost a lot of years to depressive feelings. The best years, possibly. But yeah....depression and anxiety are the two most common conditions in mental health....so the stigma has certainly lessened, as I've found lots of people you wouldn't think happen to be on something. (my younger sister has lots of friends, so I know this is more common and talked about) :S Just out of curiosity...how long have you been playing guitar? Have you played for family or others? Or more in the streaming sense?
