Sorry I've been a bit quiet lately. We've had a bad few days with my older brother who has HD. He has bcome uncontrollably violent and has attacked everybody else in the house. We had to get him sectioned yesterday, which meant that the police had to accompany the ambulance staff because he wouldn't leave to go into respite of his own accord. I've literally spent the last 48 hours restraining on his bed.

Thanks for those links, Serenity. I was down visiting my brother this morning. He was looking brilliant compared to a few days ago. They've changed his medication again. The place he's in now at the minute is a good hours drive away. He is going to be transferred to a local hospital next Monday. I set up (and maintain) the official website of the Northern Ireland Huntington's Disease Association website. I am also a committee member. My mother is the Chairperson. The amount of fighting we have had to do the educate the likes of social services and the Health Boards over here is terrible. The website address for my HD website is: northernirelandhd.tripod.com

Good to hear your brother is doing better and transferring closer to you. Your aim to educate and advocate for Huntington's Disease is admirable. I hope , someday, to do likewise with a disorder called selective mutism. People aren't familiar with it locally, which was a detriment for me and probably is for others. www.selectivemutism.org/

Thanks guys for your support. I've heard a bit about selective mutism. It can be devastating. Keep fighting.
I am so angry at the way my brother has been treated. My family feel betrayed by social services and the rest of the motley crew. Nobody wanted to know about my brother and the fact that we had to put him and my family through what we did last week to force them to take him in is disgusting.
