Okay, so we shy people tend to be more sensitive to upsetting situations than the average person. Most people will, once they get past the initial upset/humiliation of a situation, laugh along with everyone else about what happened. Sometimes I am able to do this too.
However, one particular incident from my recent past left me really upset/angry/embarrassed, and one particular friend can't seem to let it go. I have told her repeatedly how much it hurt me when the incident happened, and that her finding humor in it bugged me to no end. And yet, she constantly brings it up, over and over and over, reminding me that it's the funniest thing she's heard in years. She even asked me if I'd mind her calling me silly nicknames based on what happened.
What would you do?

i wondered the same thing, inky.
if i were in this situation, i'd probably get pissed off and just blow up at her. but.. i'm like that. i can usually show my emotions easily. and it would probably get the point across, but it's probably not the best thing to do. you probably shouldn't give her the silent treatment.. that's childish and it'll just egg her on. and yeah, i just realized i wrote all this, telling you what you shouldn't do and having no idea what you should do. sorry ^^;

Yes Inky, that was the incident. Good memory!
A lot of people have said it's better to just be humorous about the incident now that it's long past. As a rule, I think that's the best idea out there. I just have a problem when people can't take a hint. When they know how much something has hurt you and keep laughing about it, that ticks me off...
