Just wondering how can you guys actually go see a doctor and tell him about your Anxiety disorder? For me the whole process is terrifying, booking an apointment... What do you tell the secretery? never mind your doctor.... not to mention driving there, im terrified of driving anywhere but to work and back..

It can be difficult, but I guess you have to get to that point of desperation. It took me *forever* to call, as I meanwhile kept rationalizing with myself that it was silly to be anxious over something like that. Yet I was, and I almost hyperventilated when I got off the phone.
(Oh, and I just told the secretary that I would like to make an appt. with Dr. So-and-So. The conversation should take care of itself from there. She asked me if it was my first time, etc., etc.)
I still haven't been to the psychiatrist, but that's only because she doesn't have an available appt. until April.
Driving there doesn't scare me, as I drive all the time. (And I live in Miami, which boasts some of the craziest drivers in the country.)
The appt. itself scares the hell out of me. I'm just gonna go and get it over with, though. I need to.

I just think of it as someone I'm paying for a service. I don't get nervous when I tell a cashier at a store what I want. I just tell them any relevant information and they give me what I want.
