I am just like that Sharon. In fact the two bands I always listen to when I'm feeling lonely or something are REM and Radiohead. I literally just came back a few minutes ago from a long walk in the rain listening to REM, that walk was sweet. I made a post somewhere on this site too saying that REM and Radiohead are two bands i can totally relate to more than any others. Perhaps part of the reason is that Michael Stipe regards himself as "painfully shy", his words just ilke yours Sharon.

I listen to a ton of Beatle-pop and it surprises people because I am kind of a 'dark' person. I can think of nothing better than seething to sunny day music. I have always been drawn to music. The words and the tunes have meaning and are how the artists connect to the world. I always find it difficult to enjoy dance and eletronic music because it lacks that personal touch. And I sing it loud and proud, providing that I am totally alone.

The song I'm a rock, by Simon and Gartfunkel describes me exactly as I jused to be, it's scarry . I'm usualy listening to loud music, like Rammstein and In Exteremo and punk and gothmetal.

'I am a rock' is perfect for the old me, as well. A rock feels no pain... well, it never used to...

When it comes to shyness music, the Who's "Quadrophenia" does it for me! Granted, I havn't got myself in half the trouble that this kid has, but the themes of not fitting in, cluelessness in social situations, fantasy youth rebellion, unrequited love and finding yourself are ones I can identify with
