The winter is coming. I am beginning to notice that the leaves at the top of the trees are turning yellow and soon they will be turning orange. the winter will be coming soon, and i live in Tampa bay but this winter i am planning on spending some time up in Minneapolis with my folks . i have always loved winter and the frigid temperatures excite me. the solar declination at the current time is about 6 degrees north and it is continuing to fall south. soon it will be December 21st, and the solar declination will be at 23.45 degrees in the southern hemisphere. the Christmas lights will be out on all of the trees and the frigid temperatures will be present in many areas of the nation. the only question about all of these facts is this: do you belive that the change of season has any impact on your mood or your anxiety levels?

Yes... Cold weather + my sanity = don't mix. I find myself thinking more negatively more often during those times... especially around the end of Feb. I wanna move.

Right now is the best weather ever. The summer is starting to piss me off more and more. I think seasons do effect mood. Though when I am sad/negative I love when the weather matches my mood. well, if you feel that way alot, you might want to move to the northwest coast...where the weather would almost always match that mood.

Though when I am sad/negative I love when the weather matches my mood. well, if you feel that way alot, you might want to move to the northwest coast...where the weather would almost always match that mood. haha....I totally feel the same way, littlesongbird!!! Maybe I'm just weird...but I absolutely LOVE rainy weather, specifically cool rainy weather....it looks awesome, feels fresh outside, fits my mood, etc. It just feels/looks great! When it's a perfect day, temp wise and sunny, it feels odd, especially when I'm in a not so good mood...it just doesn't feel right (of course, I am kinda weird like that:P). And actually, I've often thought of moving that direction, for that very reason, when I'm older. If I do the national student exchange program like I really want to, I want to either go somewhere along the northwest or northeast coast. I don't like it too cold, though. I like snow, to some extent, especially around Christmas...but it's not the same as when I was younger....walking to campus, getting the car ready, and the extreme cold is not very delightful. I could never move down south. It gets too hot and humid! But my skin (I get very dry skin, esp in winter) would love it if I did! Now to the point of the thread...lol... the only question about all of these facts is this: do you belive that the change of season has any impact on your mood or your anxiety levels? Yes, I do think it affects certain people...I've heard about seasonal affective disorder, which Stranger gave a link to. I know I don't have it, though, because I was depressed this summer...so my mood didn't improve. And whenever it's cool, gloomy, rainy...I love it!!

yeah. i love snow. but that is more due to the fact that i don't have to drive in it. im sure if and when i have to drive in it, ill hate it. i take the bus now tho. i like the winter better. its just pretty and nice. summer it just gets too hot. though i do love the beach. i always wanted to go to the beach in winter, how weird would that be? very contrasting i think. try the coast of oregon in the winter if you ever get a chance. it's wild weather...but very beautiful.

I also love the snow providing I 1) Don't have to drive in it, and 2) Don't have to shovel it. Yet usually I have to do both and then really hate the snow! On a whole though I prefer warmer weather, I wouldn't mind moving to San Diego, I hear that's the best weather in the United States.

When the seasons are changing, I usually feel better. But I can't stand the cold weather anymore.
I hate getting sick in the winter, I hate feeling cold, I hate looking outside and seeing it bleak, when I go to bed and when I wake up. I hate standing in front of the drive-thru window, esp. when people take awhile to count their change.
I have been pretty depressed. And I'm always depressed in the winter.. I think another reason why besides the weather is that I don't have too much traveling usually going on.
I swear next year.. or one of these years.. I'm moving to a warmer climate for the winter!
