Makes me feel like I'm traveling through outer space... feeling the vastness of the universe. makes me feel better. It reminds me that the universe is so much bigger than my problems. This music sounds spooky at first, and then it becomes comforting. Maybe I should look more into ambient music... there's something peaceful about being free from words... Ooo, spacey; I like that. I got something similar a while back: NASA Voyager Space Sounds. What's really cool is that the tracks apparently come from actual magnetic field readings that have been converted into sound. I also have a few recordings of Tibetan singing bowls, which tend to have that deep, droning quality that I like. These tracks in particular are good, and the price is very reasonable, for anyone interested. I've become a big fan of ambient sounds recently. At the moment, though, I've been mostly listening to earthly nature sounds, rather than spacey deep sounds. Earth sounds (rain, wind in leaves, birds singing, moving water, etc.) tend to make me feel calm and cozy, and I like them best when I want to block out the outside world and just be alone with myself. Space sounds I'd describe as more "sobering" or "tranquilizing--" they go well with that sense of wistful melancholy that sometimes gets me. I like space sounds when I want a break from the world AND from myself, lol.

I previewed these... I like the Jupiter soundtrack a lot. The Neptune track was kinda disturbing though. That is neat that they're based off magnetic field recordings... that that is what space "sounds" like if you could hear it. At the moment, though, I've been mostly listening to earthly nature sounds, rather than spacey deep sounds. Maybe I'll start to listen to these too (I should get a better sound system to have these as background noise). I'd probably listen to rainstorms with rolling thunder, though. Even the nature sounds I'd listen to are dark!

I've been listening to The The a lot. Every time I go to post on a music thread I get lost in a haze of youtube, what to pick, what to pick..

Glad You Came - The Wanted Okay, so watching that video was a mistake and made me like the song slightly less. But I'll just have to forget the video. I like to view this song in more of an innocent way and it just reminds me of the people who I'm very grateful for having met and come into my life in some way. "Time is slipping away. . . The sun goes down, The stars come out, And all that counts Is here and now. My universe will never be the same; I'm glad you came." Cheesy maybe, but catchy.

^The story of motown, one of the music documentaries on bbc radio six music. Incidentally unlike tv, think all their radio stations normally broadcast everything worldwide online with no blocking outside the uk. six music is good really, has alternative music genres with some classics as well.

This song ( starting around 0:47 ) has been stuck in my head for a few days because of ( or should I say thanks to ? ) BioShock Infinite.

Earlier I was listening to this. It came to the end while I was in justin.tv watching/listening to old tv shows lol:
It's very relaxing. Helps me here with all the door slamming that still goes on in this place (yeah, I'm STILL here, lol).
