Just stumbled across this site a couple days ago. I'm not sure how much I'll post yet, but I figure it is worth a try. As far as I can remember, I was shy my entire life, but the amount I was shy kinda pogoed... I wasn't that bad in grade school, turned horribly shy in jr. highschool, started to come out of my shell in highschool and my first year of college, then reverted back to my jr highschool ways. I graduated 5 years ago and since then have lost all my friends (mostly through attrition, they moved out of state) and haven't been on dates in a long time. I have no problems in anything other than a social situation. I regularly go our by myself (restaurants, movies, snowboarding, etc) But, even making small talk can be hard for me. The thought of going to parties, bars or clubs can make me nauseous, that makes it harder to relate to or even meet people my age. Also, I get the overwhelming and obviously false sense that I'm the only person like this (one of the reasons I registered here.) On those rare moments where I meet someone else who is noticably shy, I always find it charming. However, as you can imagine, conversation doesn't exactly flow. I've decided I wanna try doing something about this, but I haven't a clue where to begin.
