Hi! I'm new to SU. Nice to meet you all.
I am a quiet person and am fairly shy. My main problem is internet shyness, though. I can manage okay in real life (I used to be a lot worse about a year ago, but I've been working through that), but when I get online, I feel freeze up a bit. I am looking for people who could potentially help support me in gaining more confidence when talking online.
But anyway, some more about me: I live in the US, have 2 cats, attend college, and draw for fun.

Hey! Welcome to SU! I have a problem with internet shyness as well. But since joining here a few days ago, I already feel a lot more confident! Hopefully you will too!

I am internet shy too. I might even be more shy on here than in real life.

I would forget about being internet shy and go back to the real world. Thats where I want to be. The internet made it worse for me. WTF am I doing here now!?!? Good god I've even got a headache from the computer. Welcome to SU.

Welcome kwahoo! I'm pretty much inept at any kind of social interaction in real life, but I can certainly appreciate your apprehensiveness online too. I'm still too scared to even attempt to go on the MSN chat room that was set up by Crash. Like many people who post here I tend to think far too much before replying, to the point where probably 90% of what I actually type doesn't end up being posted, mainly because I feel I have nothing to add to a topic, or others seem to be more articulate in describing their feelings, so what would the point be in posting? The only way around this I suppose is to keep posting until it becomes second nature to release your thoughts on this forum, which I'm sure no-one will hold against you. Good to have you around.
