A few things I would like to know from the americans, First in your state how many non democratic or republican party represenative do you have? And how many independants are in the the senate and house of representatives? And when was the last time, if ever a non republican or democrate presidential nominee actualy won the backing of a states electoral college? Number of independents? Zero. This is because of the electoral college system i talked about before. A few years back, we had a strong independent Presidential candidate by the name of Ross Perot. Perot, in the 1992 election i believe, managed to get nearly 20% of the popular vote. Since he was very similar in ideals and methods to George Bush, i assume this was why Clinton became President in the first place. Clinton only recieved 40% of the popular vote i think, but won the majority of the electoral votes. Something like that. Had Perot not been in the running, from the numbers it seems doubtful Clinton would ever been elected. However, it's difficult to analyze this accurately. Bush, a war hero, appealed to many veterans of the country. I know the stongest reason my father hated Clinton so much because he dodged the Vietnam War draft. However, as an independent, i'm sure Perot also appealed to a lot of conservative Democrats too.
