The only meat I eat is pork and beef. And probably horse... Well maybe avoided horse because I rarely if ever have the brands supposedly involved, but who knows... Remember they used to sell cheap venison (deer) burgers in some non-posh supermarkets, don't know about now. Think I did try dried bear meat once brought back from a holiday, but that is a rather endangered species. Apologies for waffling on, but will also eat any kind of offal really such as liver, kidneys, even tripe. Would eat sheep's heart or brains, but they're not widely available. Has anyone tried something really exotic such as Kangaroo or Ostrich?

I don't think I would eat tripe, liver, or kidneys. I am way too much of picky eater. I suppose if there were food rationing like in WWII I might get hungry enough and try those. At least in the US I think we have had it so easy for such a long time we probably have gotten a little too soft and waste more of the animals then we actually eat. The most exotic thing I have eaten is venison. Not really that exotic, but again I am a picky eater. I have seen an ostrich farm though.

Has anyone tried something really exotic such as Kangaroo or Ostrich? I've had roo, emu, and crocodile. In fact at one time all on various pizzas at the same place (The Australian Hotel in Sydney). Roo is a gamier red meat, and absolutely delicious with the right sauce/marinade. Emu was surprisingly tough for a white meat I thought. Croc is interesting: kinda seafoody, but not like fish - some weird place in between.
