The reason I stopped anti-depressants in the first place was because they were affecting my creativity alot, i had lost the creativity I had as a 16 or 17 year old, so when I quit...everything came back...then I foudn out all of it was based on negativity and unsane thoughts. Hopefully St. John's Wort won't have the same effect? I think i would rather suffer than to go through that drone like state again (from 16-21) not only that but I dont want to be this happy happy person with no problems who goes arond smiling at everything acting fake...I just believe anti depressants do that.

Heh. I know what you mean. I used to write poetry and songs, sometimes draw too.. anti-depressants soon put an end to those shenanigans. But yeah, I stopped taking them and i've gone back to being non-boring. Happy ending.

I wish I could take St. John's Wort, but it makes me break out in hives and gives me headaches...blech!
I find that jogging/exercise alleviates a lot of stress and blue feelings over time, but you've got to stick with it. Well worth it once you get over it feeling like a chore. And that is much easier said than done, no?

For the past couple of months i've made an effort to take my dog for a walk (ok, not jogging.. but still..), and i've noticed it really helps. Some days it's a pain in the ass, but i'm always glad I did it when it's over. Out of interest, where do you go jogging? I've been thinking that if it weren't for the nature on my walks, i'd have a really hard time getting motivated to go. Really the reason I find it so pleasant is that find the trees/grass soothing and sometimes, if i'm lucky, I see wildlife.

walking is fantastic (so are dogs ) i find if i have an issue and i walk on it i helps me be able to think clearly and positive . nature walks can be good (although sometimes the bush does get me little edgy about critters and stuff ) i also like suburbs too looking at houses and gardens etc ...lucky i live in a place that has a balance of both . i didnt know st johns came in a supplement form i sometimes drink the tea ...im still undecided on whether i like it or not .

I've been going to the lake nearby, which is about a 20 min. walk there. I must admit that I do a walk/run sort of thing, no marathons or sprinting. I used to love jogging and exercise, but that was many many moons ago. I really should get back into it, I was always upbeat due to all those 'feel good' chemicals fired up in the brain after a good run. I'd recommend it to anyone, nature's rush, I tell ya.
As well, (sorry if I got off topic...*blush*), there's several supplements one can buy at their local health food/nutritional store: 5HTP, SAME, the B spectrum of vitamins, and a few of the amino acids. These all boost the brain and help to fight depression.
Sometimes it is a bit of 'feeling blue' that lessens a persons daily drive, or decreases confidence in social situations. Attending to these feelings can help to dissipate the shyness to a degree, but of course, its all individual with no set forumula.

I bought the tea a week or so ago and am really enjoying it. It seems to take the edge off.

If you're going to take it daily for anxiety, it takes a few weeks to start working. Stay consistant and eventually it should help.
