Hi, Does Prozac help with shyness? I don't think I've ever tried this. Does it help?
Thanks.

Thanks. i don't know, but i couldn't recommend it. for one thing, i happen to know a woman who had a severe problem with reflux caused by prozac. she was taking it for a few years and ended up having to have major surgery on her esophagus because of the damage it caused.

It can be used for anxiety. I took the highest dose for a while, and it did make me less shy. But in my opinion, it was an out-of-control kind of change. I was making a complete tit out of myself, but I didn't see it at the time. I found it sent you the opposite way (to shy) too much.

ummm yeah i had a little experience with it . my friend gave me some of hers (it was stupid i know i was just going through a risk taking phrase i guess ) but yeah i found it worked the next day and i was "happy" too happy really i was at work and found everything hilariuos i laughed at a parent who's child was throwing a tantrum i usually find that funny but can control myself not to laugh out loud . i try to make it my goal in life to be happy and have fun ...but too happy and fun doesn't work .

No. Prozac is for treating depression and bi-polar disorders.
Please go see a qualified doctor before you start drinking any prescription medication, especially ones that affects your brain chemistry.

It can help with anxiety, as well. But, the side affects, as Sweet Pea mentioned, are not worth the short term benefits of the med.
