So, in trying to cure my shyness, I've always thought of trying to "act" as someone in the world I admire. Now, one of my favourite stars who I keep up to date with and like, is Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock. Very simply, I like him as a person and what he's achieved professionally. So sometimes I day dream that I will be something similiar to him in terms of physical and personality appearance. Anybody got anyone else that they wish they were to try to act like them to boost their confidence?

hahha. we can always dream right? why not?
but don't totally imitate him and try to be your own better person and just follow his positive characteristics, so that you won't lose your own identity.

There are definitely positive characteristics about some people in the limelight that you can learn from, but to entirely model yourself on someone is silly in my opinion. If you learn from their triumphs and mistakes that's awesome-sauce in itself.
I for one, aspire to be more like my older brother, but I would never want to become him, he's far too social and wild in some ways for my liking lol, but he has taught me a lot about the value of sticking to your guns and going after what you want in life.

HAHA no don't act. Be yourself, people will see right through you and see it as needy and insecure if you put up an act.
Rather look at the body language, voice tonality and choice of vocabulary of the person you admire. That's mostly where the key lies. It basically comes down to non verbally communicating that you're friendly, at ease with the world and approachable.

I wouldn't really say celebrities only since this trait I have seen in a few people in RL and a few celebrities. Ambition, ambitious people seem to succeed at a lot of things and never make excuses for their failures. If I was to pick a celebrity who I admire for their ambition it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger, look past his funny accent and he has been one of the most successful film stars of the 80's and 90's, has won a bodybuilding competition numerous times, has been elected to government (I don't know how his career went since I didn't follow it), has started a construction business, you don't have to agree with what he does but he has led an impressive life.

Celebrities do well as they have that bit of narcissism and being self absorbed that drives them to seek attention.
Celebrities project carefully crafted persona and are definitely not just being themselves when they are out in public.
Before their fame they were probably just another schmuck putting themselves out there over and over to get noticed.
Unless that is they are the son daughter of someone who had already made it and then they have the connections to get further.
These people make themselves their number one priority and all self important and then other people flock around validating that.
It's about image, who you know, the way you present yourself.
So if you want to glean anything from them at all is develop your image and market it, get a vast network of people, be self absorbed enough to keep going for what you want in life aggressively.
These people aren't cooped up indoors wasting their lives on video games and tv shows. They are out there making things happen.
