You good at it?
I walk into to a dealership a few minutes before closing time, having exactly what I wanna say on mind. I walk in, nobody comes to help me because they think im with my dad or something(known from previous experiences).
Finally one guy notices me walking around and sais something. So naturally everything I Was goona say flies out the window and i don't know what to say, I just wanted to ask one simple question and before you know it he has my information price range trade in value..
Then he sais "I take my job seriously and young kids like you have allot to learn about bying a vehicle, I can't put you into a truck when you come here at the end of the day, blah blah blah..."
And here im thinking:" first of all im 20 years old, and I can buy a truck in cash fuckwad so fuck off." never mind the fact that I didn't have any intentions to buy that moment.
I was sure to schedule a meeting with him I won't show up to before I left.
every dealership experience to me as been similar to the one above, except when I went to saturn- There I had a blast, too bad they don't make vehicles im interested in.

Maybe if you were just looking you'd have a better time looking online?
Though you have to beware of that too, because sometimes you'll see a good deal that doesn't really exist at all. They just put it up to lure people in and then you get there and claim 'they just sold if off the lot not long before you came in".
Also if you're buying a vehicle in cash to them you are a low priority customer. The customers they really care about are the ones who buy a vehicle beyond their means and end up with monthly payments for the next 30 years.

When people try and sell me stuff I don't want I just tell them I don't care with a look of complete and utter indifference that quickly snuffs out their hope within a few attempts.

Hi Chump, (Lonestar here)...... Still riding trucks. When are you going to get a motorbike? Sometimes even though it's tough you have to say you're not interested. We shybies are suckers for saleman - prime prey as we have no blab skills. Figure something out that would be smart to say but polite. Say this as you're walking away.

ive found the minute you show any sort of interest in anything, some salesperson jumps down your neck, what are you after, whats it for etc. i just end up researching things myself!

Car salesmen are the worst, they'll lie there asses off to make a sale. When I was looking for a car, I found one I was intrested in but said I was still going to check other places. The salesman called me and said that he has a women coming in to look at it and she might buy it. I told him ok whatever I'll call you back in a week. Guess what? the car was still there,,,lol. I told him what i thought was a fair price for the car and he accepted.
BTW most dealers don't like cash deals,, they make more money off of financing it. Also beware of all the crap they will try and sell you, like paint, interior etc seal protectant, its all BS to make extra $$.
For car info check the internet for reviews and current going prices. 1-3% is a fair percentage for the dealer to make on price of car.

Whether it's on the phone or someone at my door, I find is very difficult to deal with salespeople. To be fair, I shouldn't really have to deal with them because i'm not 18.

"Is your mommy or daddy home?" - I get that a lot.
I guess I have a youthful sounding voice, but I didn't think it was that bad, yet they still ask me that and I'm 21.
One of these days I'll get enough courage to answer the phone with my voice changer where I can sound like a robot ;D

Speaking of sounding young... I was hanging out with my friend one day a few months ago, and him and I decided to order pizza. It was the middle of the day (around 1:30 or 2:00) and the guy at the pizza place said to me as I was ordering "shouldn't you be in school?" I'm 18 and in university and didn't have class that day so I told him exactly that. He couldn't stop apologizing, lol.

I have a young sounding voice too. Whenever I answer the phone and a telemarketer is on the other end they always ask if my parents are home .

Hi Chump, (Lonestar here)...... Still riding trucks. When are you going to get a motorbike? well I would, I just cant help but picture that big car or suv heading towards me with the person behind the wheel putting on make up or eating a salad (i've seen it all), then it's game over. But in a truck... you know.. Anyway I use my brother as a backup plan for car dealership, he is the polar opposite of me and can chat up a storm to anyone, so usually I check out the vehicle while he keeps the salesman distracted. But if I go myself im pretty screwed.

We are the CUSTOMER for christ sake, they should make us feel comfortable. But then, i'm never comfortable in places like that, alas

With salespeople in shops I just say no and walk away. Its more difficult on the telephone as i'm not firm enough. I'd say something like "I don't really need that" rather saying no im not interested.
