I have 1 friend I guess, but she lives in another state. We've known each other for about 15 years, but I talk to her online and it seems we only talk on the phone when we are planning a vacation. I would say I have 2 more friends, but I haven't seen them in over a year. I still refer to them as my friends, but is a person still a friend if you don't ever interact with them? Do online friends count? I have 1 friend on msn and 2 email pals.

3 friends that I actually hang out with, do things with, feel comfortable around etc. Other than that, nope. Closest are aquaintences, but all the nerves and awkwardness is there as if they were strangers. Dunno what i'de do without the 3 friends i've got, once in university and we go seperate ways (likely inevitable) I fear what might happen.

Hey =) Hm, I do have friends, some. I have one 'best' friend, over msn, email and letters. And he stayed with me this summer (he's from aboroad), for a week. Then I have 2 girls in msn who I can consider as my friends, they're also living in another country. Then at school I have one 'friend', but now she is in another class.. And in church I have one friend. Still it feels like I'm alone.. weird tho. -Hann.

Yes I have about five friends. One I've known since kindergarten, another I've known since 4th grade, two I've known since 7th grade, and the other I've known since my freshman year. There was another guy I've known since 1st grade and he's the reason that me and my other friends met, but he decided to be a real douchebag to us so we don't hang out with him anymore. And I have an aquaintance I met in January; although I don't really know her that well I think she has the potential to become a good friend.

i'm surprised no one picked a lot. after describing all your friends some of you seem to have a lot!

I have few friends but no very close friends. I wish I had. I would define a close friend as someone who you know would be there for you if you needed them, even if it meant coming to you from the other side of the world.

Its so hard to define what makes a "friend". I would say I have 3 good friends who I wouldnt hesitate to hang around with or call if I want to and who I am around very often, pretty much daily. Then I know other people who I will occasionally hang around with and dont feel at all awkward around, but its hard to say whether I would consider them a good friend all the time as its not that often I hang around with them. I am thankful that I do have friends, but I sometimes find I have an even greater connection with people online, what a shame I have to live so far away from such people.

One close friend that I do things with on a one-on-one basis, and a couple of acquaintences (basically friends of my friend) or people from work that will go out in a group for a special events when organized by someone else.

None, apart from one person who I see very occasionaly, which at the moment is about once a year. There are also some people on the internet I speak to.
I haven't had any friends since I was about 13. It doesn't seem like im capable of making friends.

To me, a friend is someone that you hang out with or talk to outside of classes (I'm in college) and work. So, taking that definition into consideration...I have 5 real-life friends. In a way it sounds like a lot (there were times when I had NO friends). But compared to most people I know in real life, I'm pretty friendless. And none of my friends are great friends that I talk to every day or anything like that. I don't have a "best friend" in real life. I feel very lonely most of the time because none of my friends are all that reliable.
