One of my most hated times of the year is coming up pretty soon: Valentine's day. I am in my final year at high school and I will have to suffer once more the annual humiliating ritual of the handing of everybody else in my class handing out cards while I sit wiith my head down. The sound of girlie giggles will haunt me forever. Is it just me or does anybody els out there feel the same?

I hated Valentine's day when I was in school. Every one got cards while I just sat there. What was more annoying was the fact the school sold these cards attached with candy. And then the school would announce which girl and guy got the most valentines.

You give cards in High school? I don't remember people giving out cards en masse since elementary school. Memories of middle school are vague, because I went to two, for a year each, but in High School, I remember very few people giving out Valentines. I only remember a few girls giving out Valentines(or Christmas presents) to more than a few friends.
I don't mind it as much anymore, because it's not major. I see very few people celebrating Valentine's, so I am not reminded to be lonely as much, anymore.

There were a lot less Valentine's Day cards going around in middle and highschool. What bothered me though was the fact the school announced who got the most cards, that were sold through the school..

At my schools nobody ever made a fuss about Valentine's Day. It just passed, as every normal day, with perhaps a small amount of rare people who received a card.
