:(I'm a 27 year old female and I am frusterated. I have a husband who loves me dearly and a small group of girlfriends whom I've known for 2 years. I have a great group of friends and a great husband, both whom I feel comfortable talking too. I'm a quiet girl but I would like to go clubbing to concerts to parties or do stuff that's cool and fun. The problem is none of my friends or my husband likes to do that stuff or drink. I don't have anybody to do stuff with. My co-workers are nice but they aren't into the party scene either. I missed out on my college experience because I guess I wasn't with the right people and I was a transfer and commuted. I just want to have fun. I just celebrated my birthday on Sat. and instead of my friends taking me to a bar and getting drunk, they had me over and we cooked dinner and their kids showed me their new games. My husband took me out to dinner the next day when he had off from work. I get upset because I hear all these ads for clubs and bars which I would love to go to but again, with who. I don't like going places alone either. I just want to have some fun before I start a family. I just needed to vent.

How about your friends - do they know you would like to do something like this? Can you confide in them that you would like them to get you drunk and show you a wild time?

Just because they're not into that sort of thing doesn't mean she can't suggest it to them. Sometimes people do things they don't like to do for their friends and family.

Try keeping such thoughts for yourself next time! Shypuppy, are you absolutely sure none of your friends enjoy parties? Have you ever suggested to them going to one?

I don't know whether this person is serious or just a troll...I suspect the latter, given that s/he didn't contribute anything to the thread beyond an insult.
Shypuppy didn't tell her friends (as far as we can tell), what she wanted for her birthday celebration, so they did for her either what they wanted or what they thought she wanted. Neither means they aren't open to hearing what she really wants and helping her with that. However, there's no way to know without talking to them about it.
It would also be a good idea to talk to her hubby about this, because it could be a frustrating marriage if he is not satisfying her in certain important ways. He may be open to taking her out to a club, the two of them drinking and dancing like maniacs.

He/She does seem like a troll.
Trolls are sad sad people
And shypuppy it wouldn't hurt to ask.
I hate clubbing but one time my boyfriend wanted to go so he could see this techno guy.
Its not really something I'm into, but I had a good time

Sounds like your husband and friends have grown up. At what age do you plan to do the same.

At what age do you plan to do the same. Funny, I wanted to ask you exactly the same thing.

dont listen to those people trying to insult you. they are the ones who need to grow up if all they're interested in is insulting others. everybody needs to have fun sometimes. maybe you could ask your friends/husband if they would try it just once for you. you could also compromise and do something that they are always wanting you to do with them. maybe when your at the club/bar you might meet someone who does enjoy doing those things.hope that helps! ;D
