One of my new jobs at work includes calling the phone numbers on all returned mail we get for companies/ consumers.
Six people swore at me today. Can't they just be nice and say "Sorry we refuse to give out that information"?
Idiots.
Thank god I'm not a telemarketer.

I was playing a card game online the other night. My opponent asked me what card I'd picked up, as it happened so fast she didn't see it. Well, it also happened so fast that, looking at my hand, I couldn't remember which of the 10 cards I'd just taken versus which 9 I'd started with.
When I told her I couldn't remember, she swore at me, called me a nasty name, and accused me of being a liar.
Yeah, I hate mean people too.

I hear ya. Lately I've learned to fight back more. I don't know how permissive your workplace is, but mine allows me to be slightly nasty to some of the people on the phone who are jerks to me. It's been a good way to help me practice being assertive, because my workplace actually *wants* me to be mean sometimes.
