oh the memories of changing in gym are flooding back to me....
I'd say, if its possible, try to get into a bathroom stahl and change in there. If thats not an option, change one piece of clothing at a time, that way you will not be completly exposed at any one time. do you have to shower? because at my school we didn't have access to showers unless our class was doing a swimming unit...so that wasn't really an issue becuase when I actually did swim (i skipped out alot...do to shyness about my body and the fact that i cant swim and didn't want to risk embarrasing myself) I kept my swimsuit on while showering.... if you do have to shower... I dont know what to do.

I remembered during my younger days in school there were no such things as lockers. So during P.E. classes, we had to change into our attires right in class.
I have had Eczema for as long as I can remember and everytime I took off my shirt, everybody would be staring at the unsightly sores, rashes, wounds and scars on my body. Some would even tease that I had some kind of incurable, terrible and contagious disease and would refuse to come near me! I tell you - it HURT like shit- esp for a 6 year old boy!
This certainly did no part to improve my shyness and I absolutely Hated it! I hated P.E! I hated my classmates!Even my teachers! I hated my parents! cos no one stood up for me! It got so bad at 1 point I wished the whole world would just die before my eyes!..
I can understand how you feel..I am 29 now and sometimes, I still feel the effects of yesteryears. I am , like mopst of you here, trying hard to overcome my shyness.
Maybe the whole world should just shut up and die!

i think schools do this shit and create these situations on purpose. they WANT a pecking order to form. they WANT the bullying to happen, because it gets across to kids the message of the all important conformity.
i would usually change in a stall with the door closed, at least after the first time someone mocked me with "what is that a toothpick". i remember getting "wedgies" too. how much i wanted to columbine those fucking assholes... i still fantasise about it even at age 27 i still fantasise about being in middle school, pulling out a gun and blowing everyone away...
