Because of my shyness / social phobia, i tend to waste a lot of time in front of the computer or the tv feeling lonely browsing sites just like this one.. i know that i would much prefer to be out actually doing something but that is hard sometimes when you have no groups of friends to do it with... i mean, it makes me less motivated to do things like read or study at home..

I am like you, but maybe a little bit different. I tend to feel even more lonely in a group of people. So I choose to spend my time by myself in front of computer, TV....
When watching other people talking to each other, hugging each other, having a good time, I just feel so lonely.

I've been losing sleep over the whole thing. I'll get home from work, start looking at stuff on the net and then before I know it, it's really late....or early morning. I then get up to go to work, but I'm so exhausted. Then I do it all over again. The thing is, it's because I'm so lonely and stressed out and I know it doesn't help matters to get so tired, but I can't help it. This site in particular makes me feel a little less alone.

Ditto for me, Cactus. I go to work, come home, exercise for 30 minutes, and then surf the net until 3 in the morning. It's a daily routine, and on weekends I am in front of the computer all day and taking naps. Since football season is here, I'm suring & watching the games at the same time, with a little nap thrown in of course.

Hey Max Power! Good to know I'm not the only one who's turned into a net zombie. Sucks doesn't it?

Totally. When I move out im not buying at T.V.
I can't go a day without the Internet. Seriously I cant no matter how hard I try.. I think it is the root of my problems, I started browsing at like 14 when I should have been developing socially. I don't get any hobbies done or anything, Id rather stare at a blank screen for hours.

I know what you mean Chump. I don't have a T.V., but the internet is a pretty bad addiction for me. It definitely hinders my productivity in the "real" world (although, if it were taken away from me, I'm sure I could resume normal function and get some stuff done).

My Computer, my Television and my Car are my 3 best friends. Sure I want to improve my social life but no way would I want to live without them. If I did, I might as well be living in the 1800's.

Hey Max Power! Good to know I'm not the only one who's turned into a net zombie. Sucks doesn't it? You bet Cactus, it sucks big time. I live in a huge city where there is so much to do, no matter how late or early, but I just can't leave the comfort of my TV, computer and video games. In 1989 when I was in high school, a video game called Phantasy Star II came out, a role playing game that I played everyday and enjoyed. (To this day I think it was one of the 3 best games I've ever played.) But everyday I played it, even as much fun as I was having, I wanted to be out on a date. Fast forward to 1997 & 1999 respectively, playing two more role playing gams, Final Fantasy 7 & 8. Both times, I played them 4 hours a day on weekdays, and at least 15 hours during the weekends. Again, wishing I was out on the town. I get too comfortable with these things. At least this site makes me feel comfortable, and I enjoy it more than any other site I visit.
