Please help me!!!!!! well i have known this guy for 4 years and he has liked me for 3 years and i have liked him for 3 years... but we never really talk because he is extremely shy and we have had no classes together since 6th grade i am really out goin and now in the 9th grade but i am really shy with him i always catch him or his friends looking at me but when i turn around and look at him he looks away I am really good friends with his friends and they say he really likes me the problem is that he has no self confidence at all i have tried saying hi to him and he always looks around the room thinkin i am talking to someone else even if i say his name we normally walk the same way in the hall to get to our 6th period cass but lately if he sees me now the next day he walks a different way does he like me or not? why does he walk a different way the next day? thanks for your advice in advance i really need it

Yes, he almost certainly likes you.
He avoids you because he doesn't know what to do and is scared of screwing up, being laughed at, etc. It may be hard to believe, but shy people are extremely afraid of little social failures that an outgoing person would just shrug off.
If you are outgoing and like him, make the first move. Some shy guys would ask someone out if they knew for sure, but this guy seems too shy to do that.

Yes, make the first move but try not to be too aggressive the first time round. Most importantly make him feel comfortable and special.
