Just saw both movies and they were excellent; I can't recommend them highly enough.
A lot of people have said the first film was the best, but I actually preferred the second. Not as stylistic as the first, but it had more heart. Great stuff. See it!

I suppose it depends on whether or not you're a fan of Tarantino. Did you like Pulp Fiction? If not, you probably won't like this either.

I am not much into movies ... one of my friends just told me that I absolutely have to see it if I want to look at [some female actor - he obviously considered her famous, I can't tell] squeezing an eye-ball between fingers on her leg. That settles it for me - I am not going anywhere near a place that's playing this one.

Ay, Bluheart, you're making me feel *really* old. I saw Pulp Fiction when it came out in the theatres. I think I was about 16 or 17 at the time, but you must have been just a toddler. (I'm 26.)
I'm very, very into films (particularly oddball/independent/foreign ones), and I even wanted to be a screenwriter for a while. Let's just say that you have to have a really.....different... sense of humor to appreciate the films of Quentin Tarantino. The first time I saw Pulp Fiction, I walked out of the theatre thinking, "What the heck was THAT?" I had never seen anything like it. It took me awhile to fully appreciate it and now I think it's just amazing. (It was nominated for several Academy Awards that year, including Best Picture.) It made Tarantino (a former video store clerk) a top Hollywood director, and it revived the careers of John Travolta and Bruce Willis. It really has become a part of cinema history.
However, like I said, you need a certain personality to appreciate it. If you are easily offended by *anything*, don't bother watching it. If not, it's definitely worth checking out. Uma Thurman's performance is priceless.
And I can't say enough about Kill Bill, Vol. 1 and 2. I haven't had such an enjoyable time at the movies in a long time.

sorry. im always saying something stupid. didnt mean to make you feel old. your only 26, and thats pretty young. id pick being 26 over 13 any day. its definitley no coincidence that 13 is an unlucky number. maybe ill ask one of my older sisters about pulp fiction.

No, that's OK! You didn't upset me or anything. I agree with you - I'd rather be 26 than 13, too! Adolescence was not a fun time for me.

Personally, I found it a little too stylized with way too much gratuitous violence (yawn). But I can see how it could provide a good vicarious experience of seriously kicking some ass. We all probably need that sometimes.

Kill Bill 2 is definitely worth seeing. As has already been said it's a bit different than # 1. It does not have any scenes quite as over the top as the Uma Thurman taking out all of Lucy Liu's body guards in the night club scene. # 2 is a bit more "talky", but it does a great job of filling in the back story from # 1. It also fleshes out the characters a bit more. I thought that the only real negative was the sound track. I did not think it was a good as the first.
