Scribed by my own hand - more solitude than shyness, but I hope you like them.
A Lonely FateMy lowly heart screams out in fear,
Reaching for any that be near,
But to my solemn despair,
No sweet reply do I hear.
I speak but one tongue, though few understand,
I seek companions, scribed by the same hand,
Alas, hanging from the cloth of life,
I am but one solitary strand.
I do not demand crowds, nor the finest of men,
I ask not for riches, nor a life glaring golden,
Oh tell me true of my own soul's ink,
Has it since run dry in Nature's pen.
And Still I await as days sink with the sun,
In life's lottery, is this the prize I have won?
But would words such as these, ever be writ’,
If it wasn't for the fate of the lonely ones?
Where Are All The Lonely Souls? All the lonely souls,
Oh where do they hide?
All those solitary minds,
To join together, ever denied.
All the wandering feet,
Single travellers alone in the mist.
Each seeking to meet,
Longing for destiny's happy twist.
All those searching eyes,
Dampened by the sorrow of time.
Rejection, envy, self-inflicted lies,
Whilst society decrees solitude a crime.
All those soft drawn sighs,
Masked by life's chill wind.
Shivering lips ask "how?", "why?"
"We live to what end?"
All the lonely souls,
They who are, know so true,
That one and one divided,
Has yet to equal two.
