Simon and Garfunkel's music touches me. I can relax under my warm blankets hugging my plushie kitty and their beautiful music makes me so happy. It's so relaxing, so calming. It sets me it this dazed far away land. I love The Sounds Of Silence and America.
Nirvana. Wow. Unplugged in New York is so wonderful. I can feel the emotion in Kurt's voice which can bring me to tears.
Do you guys like them too? How does their music make you feel?

It sets me it this dazed far away land. I love The Sounds Of Silence and America. Do you guys like them too? How does their music make you feel? I absolutely love Simon and Garfunkel. I agree that it is very calming music to listen to. I love listening to it when I'm just really down or upset or even a little angry. I was for a while just turning it on before bedtime and listening to it before I fell asleep. It's a good way to end any day. I had actually heard about them when I was quite young (since I've always, always been into older music), but the moment I decided to actually venture out and listen to more of their songs and paid more attention or learned more about them was when I heard one particular song on the radio. It was "I am a Rock" and I woke up to it one morning (when I was 15), because I use the radio as my alarm to wake up. Anyways, I just could really relate to the song, to the lyrics, to how he felt when he wrote it. It was a very depressing time to me when I heard it and it was just like such a relief to hear my feelings kind of pour back to myself...if that makes sense. Anyways, after that I quickly downloaded a bunch of their songs and put together one awesome cd. It's the best cd I've ever made. Sadly, though, "I am a Rock" is the one song that Paul Simon says he doesn't care for anymore. I guess he must have said something during an interview about it. I just read it on the computer somewhere, and it kind of bothered me, but oh well. I still love them and his songs too.

Agreed, not the first musical combination that comes to mind, but both great all the same. I know what you mean about Simon and Garfunkel having a kind of dreamy, relaxing quality. Personally, the songs that stick out for me though are Baby Driver and Why Don't You Write Me. Always cheer me up and put a stupid smile on my face. 'The Man Who Sold The World' - always the first song I think of when someone mentions Unplugged. Just for Novoselic's ascending bass bit for some reason.

I really like Simon and Garfunkel. "I am a Rock" seems like a good song sometimes for shy people. Although we shouldn't really try to be "an island" it is how we feel at times.
My favorite song is probably "The Boxer".
