OK, I'm new to this series, but rented a few of the DVDs over the weekend. This show is great. For those new to the show and, like me, don't have Showtime, it's about an 18-yr-old woman named Georgia. On the first day of searching for a new job in LA (I think) she is killed by a toilet seat falling from the space station, MIR. Upon dying she finds out that instead of going to the Great Beyond she finds out that she is a grim reaper, or undead. So now her job is to collect the souls of the dead. However there's a catch. This job doesn't pay so she also has to find a "regular" job to pay her rent and such. Every morning she meets with a group of other reapers and a foreman (Rube) and is given an assignment: a post-it note with the first 2 initials and last name of the person whose soul is to be collected and the time and location of death. Georgia is reluctant to accept her new "life" and thus makes every effort to not do it and to fade into the woodword like a "normal person." Yes, you guessed it, she's shy. On top of everything she can't resist the urge to visit her family to see how they're doing. It's a very well-made show that digs into some very deep aspects of human emotion and spirituality. It's also quite funny at times. The official website for the show is www.deadlikeme.tv.

I'm a new fan of this series too. I don't have cable tv (I have "rabbit ears" on my tv that gets only about 4 or 5 channels) so I never watch tv. But someone told me that it was a good show so I rented the DVD's and now I like the show.
